Hi,
I switched over to e cigs just 3 weeks ago and can't believe I waited so long!
I'm now looking at some proper Vape kits, riva has been highly recommended, so I'll probably take that route. Can't believe I'm typing all this without wheezing!
Cheers for now!

Welcome clive. The Riva is the starting kit of many of us on here, but there will be plenty of recommendations for you to consider. Good luck!

Hi Clive and #welcome2# you're right the Riva is an excellent choice. Now you need to consider what atomiser, cartomiser, tank or clearomiser to choose. My recommendation would be the Stardust as it's so faff free for the beginner and vapes great on a Riva.

Hello & welcome Clive, good to see you here I'm going to again recommend the Riva 1100 mAh kit from Vape Escape & ask for the atomisers to be swapped for cartomisers. (You'll be sent 10 cartomisers) & don't forget to use the discount code allabout for 10% off - www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-riva-110....eginners%5D~151You could always get some Stardusts as well, or try them at a later date

Thanks for the replies and recommendations, much appreciated.
I'm going for the riva kit, but what else should I order? What is the difference between an atomiser and a cartomiser? What's a stardust?
So much to learn.

I'm new to vaping as well, so I'm probably not the best person to give advice, but I can offer you a "hello and welcome!".

An atomiser you have to keep topping up with liquid as it can only hold 3 - 5 drops of liquid at a time. It's ok if you want to test liquids more often but it's not a great portable solution. A cartomiser is like an atomiser but it's filled with wadding you can fill with liquid and it can hold 1ml of liquid or so in it so you can vape it for an hour or more without having put more liquid into it. A much more portable solution and more reliable than an atomiser. An atomiser itself is simply a heating coil with a cartridge. You put liquid into the cartridge wadding but it can barely hold any liquid and doesn't feed into the heating coil very well so you often have to drop liquid straight onto the coil manually. Most skip the wadding part alltogether and just drip straight onto the coil - aptly named "dripping" A stardust is a new system for holding a lot of liquid at once. It's like a cartomiser with no wadding. It's a clear plastic tank you fill with liquid and it will go a lot longer without you needing to top it off with liquid.

Ego vision/Stardust is the best thing to come into the vaping praternity since i started out, in my opinion.
They last for ages. The taste is wonderful. Easiest way to fill. Cheap as chips. Look great on any ego/riva.

Cheers for the heads-up, that's good info. Cartomisers seem to be the way to go, so I guess I'm ready to order. Any links to the big battery 'mods' that I've seen on the forum? Many thanks to all who have replied, I'm grateful for the welcome and advice!

Hi and #welcome2# Mr Clive. I have a Riva kit that I have been using for about 4 months now, and I love it! I started out with Cartomisers, which were/are good but a bit of a pain to keep topped up if you are out all day! I have been using an Ego Clearomiser for about a month now, and it is fab! It's so easy to top up, and you get a great vape off of them....not to mention the fact that they last for absolutely ages, unlike the Carto's Let us know how you get on with your kit
