Not for me as i love nice cold dark winter nights. Also i hate being at work when it's too hot. Only times i like the sun is if on holiday or in the beer garden 😊

I'm not naturally to be truthful rezello, more of a night owl . . . . I've just had to re-train myself for current circumstances, although an early morning walk and drive does have a charm on a nice spring or summer's day.
The reverse is completely true in the winter!

Now, there's one thing we do not get here: those long late twilights. Even in full summer it' full dark by about 8.30 pm. But ... no problem, we have this wonderful new invention here that has revolutionised our lives. We call 'em "electric lights". *grin* Oh, and Perpetua , the only thing that makes 4am bearable is being unconcious.

I wish Dave . . . . although it's tolerable during the lighter mornings and we've had some lovely ones this last few weeks here. No wonder I spark out generally by 9pm in the evenings, 10pm is a late night for me.

Well here's a little treat I managed to capture on my phone of all things right after I though "this is one of those times I could really use a decent camera" my phone soon showed me! This is taken without any filters or adjustments...I was amazed. This is from my bedroom window at approx 2130 last night

Yep, it's true rezello. Just a function of how close to the equator (or pole) you are. The closer to the equator, the shorter the twilights. Tilt of the earth and such... Pretty picture! At 9.30 here you'd only get black ...

At 9.30 here you'd only get black ... that was after quite a gloomy day (as you can probably see by the clouds). Does that mean there isnt a lot of differance between the length of daylight hours from summer to winter ?

There is a difference summer to winter here, rezello , but no where as much as I think you see. Actual numbers rather than subjectives: At home, in Perth, summer- Sunrise about 5 ish am. Sunset about 8 ish pm Winter- Sunrise about 7 ish am Sunset about 6 ish pm. Further north (toward equator) means less difference between summer and winter. So Darwin (Northern territory far north of Oz) sees least difference summer to winter and has sharpest cutoff between day and night. Conversly, bottom of Tasmania - Hobart - has most difference between winter and summer and has most drawn out twilight. Interestingly, even though Hobart is the coldest Oz capital, but, in summer receives most hours of sunshine.

DaveJ I assume that Oz is like SA and doesn't really have a twighlight... some bugger just switches the lights off and light to dark in less than an hour ?
