I seem doomed with receiving packages from the Royal Mail. If I had £1 for every darn red card left, I'd be a rich man. Anyway... I was in the local sorting office (central posting/collecting place) which is a total faff to get to (45 minutes in the rush hour) and they gave me a form called "Nominate a neighbour".. All well and good. I have filled it in but now what do I do with it? Does it say? - No. Does it suggest what to do with it other than wipe my backside with it on the website? - No. Muppetry of highest order. I mean - how hard can it be to write "return to your local PO or sorting office or send to freepost ABC123" Amateurs. You provide a useful service and then fail to actually tell people how to complete the sign up. 21st century woes. I haz them. Anyone know...or shall I take a wild guess and post this card to Santa? Maybe some fairies can pick it up from my door and pass it to some Jedi organisation that uses the force to deliver Fasttech packages.

From a search on RM website: ".... local Royal Mail Customer Service Point (CSP)/Delivery Office. By completing a short form at your CSP, you can nominate which neighbour you'd like us to try first if you're not in. We need you to come to the CSP to do this for security reasons. "
[ www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/delivery-to-neighbour/#faq-19350918-35834807] Looks like you were supposed to complete the form while you were there, rather than take it away and wonder what to do with it.

There is hardly a day goes by that I don't receive a parcel ...... for any one of my neighbours! No idea if I have been nominated by any of them, just lucky enough that the postie knows we are all friends & I'm the one that is usually at home when he is on his rounds djs hope you get it sorted

I have convinced the nice young girl who delivers the post to leave over-sized items (not signed for) in a special bin. Common sense dictates if there's not been a burglary since 1976, you can safely leave a pack of bamboo sticks for the garden in a bin rather than go all "it didn't fit so we're punishing you" and making you do 45 minutes to pick this s*** up. Nobody can burgle around here. We're the only people that leave the house. Everybody else is at least 90 years old and can't drive anymore. I'm thinking of starting a taxi firm for them. Bless... I can take you to Sainsbury's for less than an official taxi. Trouble is, they get buses for free so all shop at b***** Waitrose or M&S in town

I had a lovely post lady who did just that djs , she would even let me know when she was on holiday, so I could avoid ordering anything during that time . . . . . the system worked a treat for us both. To my utter devastation she changed rounds several weeks ago.
Our SO although local it's a real hassle to park, it also has very limited collection times - opens at 9.30am/closes at 2pm, which is useless to me and the hours I work - unless I bust a gut to get there during a break. Saturday is about the only day I can comfortably make it and then it closes at 12, which also suits the rest of the working population and queues can be dozens of people deep. On my days off, any post always gets delivered at a time when I'm out walking.
So now I have my ex post lady's replacement in training . . . . . so far so good.

I also have a new postie. I questioned why the last one changed the round, and was told that it's company policy to change their rounds. When I asked why, they said something along the lines of "That's how it is".
Also known as "Coz we want to, and we can,so we do, just to annoy you".
