Drystone walling going round perimeter and bigger stones across pond flow at shallow end to retain pebble beach
















And that’s as far as I’ve got.

more walling to do at the week.end and about 200 plants to get potted up and in the pond.

paving slabs coming next week for around the perimeter bridging the grass (I’ll remove it first) and the top of the drystone wall.

Eventually pond will be filled to about half way up the drystone wall. 

Then just the waterfall to, pump and filter to source and install an electricity supply, might be finished by Xmas

Well I bought 4 bags of hort grit for £20 and used it all planting 7 baskets, I have another 40 baskets to plant up so I’ve bought a Ton bulk bag of grit for £66 delivered, should have enough now

Damn rain preventing walling progression

Paving slabs arriving next week for the perimeter and final piece of waterfall arrived yesterday.

I’ll soon have more materials than time to install everything

They'll be there ready when you do though Greg.

Nothing more frustrating than having the time and inclination to crack on with a project, then not having the stuff to hand to do it!

Just a little update.

I’ve planted all the plants up in baskets and put them right round the perimeter apart from the shallow beach end as I need to fill the pond up further before putting a few in that end.

I’ve cut the liner and underlay right back, finished 90% of the walling and dug out all the grass around the perimeter ready to cement the paving slabs in place.

Just need to decide how I’ll finish the section where the waterfall is going, likely big rockery stones cemented to the shelf then I can get it filled right up and lay the slabs.

After that just the water fall to sort and a power supply to run for the pump and filter, oh and I need pebbles for the shallow beach end.
