ive mixed before but quite some time ago and to a very basic standard. ive only ever used flavour art flavours. ive been vaping campfire custard by dragons rise for a couple of years and since the changes ive bought zero nic from dragons rise and added my own .72 nic. i will no longer buy from dragons rise due mainly to a total lack of communication. so im looking for something to mix myself, without getting out of my depth. can i use FA custard and get a reasonable vape from it? im not a flavour mad vaper, just want to something simple to mix until i get my head around it all. i dont know if it makes a difference but i believe it does, i vape using innokin T18 coils/cartos @ 9 watts so im not currently a high watt vaper, so im assuming i dont need the flavour intensity. i have read a post on kreeds custard that says FA custard is fine as a single part mix. just some ideas would be very helpful. tia.

ragjoy you would be better off buying a one shot custard mix than just using FA custard as it has a citrus note, if you want some custard samples just pm me I have loads mixed and steeped. Kreeds Custard is a very good custard what I did was use FA Premium Custard as this suited my taste.

TBH there is a 1001 different custards out nowadays MrDJ is a total custard fiend who i am sure used to also vape campfire at one point hopefully he will be along at some point and can help you with a similar flavour profile.

cheers for the shout @broadblaster ahh campfire (DJ hides his head in shame). it was me that tried them first and introduced them to the forums but even after all this time their lack of communication and inconsistency with the flavour ive not bought from them in the last year and now ive started mixing they wont be getting any more orders from me. now i still buy at least 300ml of shortfills a month of any sort of custard but for those on a tight budget theres no better way to get your fix than make it yourself. so far i mixed around 20-30 custards and they were all a bit meh. vapable but not something id rush out and mix again but as tastes are so subjective you may love them. personally the best of the best is capella V1 which has a few nasties in it (the whole popcorn lung fiasco was blown out of all proportion and debunked a couple of years ago as more diacetyl in a single cig compared to the worst ever reading in an eliquid). if you are worried about diacetly then there is capella V2 but i think thats kak. give me V1 any day. as tcg69 stated, it might be a good idea to try some oneshots. ive got 10 steeping at the moment. all bought from Chefs www.chefsflavours.co.uk/88-chefsvapour-concentratesjust mix at 20% for most of them and add vg/pg/nic then steep for a month. some that ive tried so far are kreeds, welsh, claires ambrosia. mixing yourself as your using a low wattage tank then a 50/50 would be best and this is the only 50/50 one ive tried (pic below) so far but it uses capella v1 theve named it gvc but its nowhere near grants custard. also i use this calculator to work it all out www.steam-engine.org/juice.htmli couldnt get the hang of syringes but scales make it so easy working in grams. the pic below ive added to the calculator. to make 10ml bottle- 50/50 - zero nicotine (if you want nic added let me know what strength and ill add it to the calculator) hope this helps a bit.

thanks guys, as i suspected, a bloody minefield lol. i think the one shots is what im looking for a this stage, i thought that was what i was doing when i bought zero nic campfire custard a month or so back. im going to take a look at the link for chefs flavours and start from there, i like to make up 300ml or so at a time so should i be looking to buy 60ml for that amount, just trying to get a rough idea of how much one shot to buy. thanks again.
EDIT can i just add that im currenly at 16 to 18mg and my newest and final batch is 12mg if i remember correctly, does this affect my one shot ratio?

i only mix up a 10ml bottle to start with as a waste if your not going to like it so buy 10ml concentrate, try it and if its good then a bigger bottle next time. 10ml at 20% will make around 50ml

Should be fine ragjoy . . . . however if you're in doubt, then both are reasonable enough to replace.
I'll echo the recommendations for one shots, they simplify the mixing process significantly - but please don't make vast quantities at first, until you find what works for your tastes and what doesn't.
Chefs have a good custardy selection in their 10ml samples, the more you buy then the price is reduced on each one, our AAEC discount code also gives 10% off on any orders over £10.00 excluding P&P.

In your cool climate it'll be right - assuming it was reasonably decent/fresh when you first purchased it. I have 3 plus year old stuff in the dark cupboard (not fridge) and it sees quite warm conditions for some of the year. It's fine.
Give it a sniff when you first open it. If all seems right, try mixing a small batch and vape it. If it vapes ok then go for it!

back again, ive been having a look at chefs flavours. im a bit confused of how to buy the one shots, some seem to be available in 10ml and others in 30ml for example welsh custard @ 10ml £3.60 then kreeds kustard @ 30ml £3.60. obviously im missing something, is welsh custard 3x the price of kreeds kustard?. i intended to try the recommendations from tcg69 with kreeds and mrdj adding claires ambrosia and welsh custard. claires and kreeds are only in 30ml and 100ml with welsh only available in 10ml, am i understanding this right?. tia.
