I have 4 batteries that are no more than 6 months old. When I use them in my pico they drain quickly and I have to replace twice a day but if I use on my girlfriend's pico they last a lot longer, around 2 days. Is mine just broken?

Sounds like the Pico is faulty. Good news is they are quite cheap. Better to get a new on than just trash your batteries.

Whilst the Pico is my favourite mod (I have 5 of them...), I have had similar issues before - won't read a battery or the quick drain.
They were so cheap a while a go, I grabbed a load and if they do a year each I wouldn't be heartbroken - built for fun but sadly not to last, I guess....

I guess I'll buy a new pico then. Could I have damaged my batteries?

- built for fun but sadly not to last, I guess.... Well, my silver painted one has nearly two years' of sterling service. Not a scratch on it apart from the chrome rubbing off the button. (Knocks wood...)

IMO the new Pico Mods are not as nearly as well made as the old ones - I had a Pico for two years and recently lost it and had to replace - the new one is already looking old after only 3-4 months... My original black Pico squonk is also two years old and looks brand new, I bought a second one a year ago, it is not as heavy and just feels a bit less robust.

Give the inside of the battery cap and the threads a good clean, and if there is there a spring in the cap pull it out and give it a good clean to. Dirty contacts cause a voltage drop and can make the mod think the batteries are lower than they are.

Clean the POS and NEG contacts, clean the threads on the cap and the body. If that doesn't resolve it, I might suggest upgrading the firmware to ARTICFOX.
