I'm not sure why, i'll need to think about it, but i'm very uncomfortable using the terms 'vape' and 'vaper' to non vapers I personally couldn't care less if people still want to believe I'm smoking, I know what I'm doing so that's what counts!

i really dont like the term E smoker.... the 'E' is more associated to drugs than vaping is for me... plus smoking is totally incorrect. smoke or smoking is the burning of stuff which isnt actually what we are doing. we are vaporising (evaporating) a liquid, so vapour or vaping is a more accurate and logical description
while i at it i dont like e-cigarette either... i would personally prefer to not be associated with cigarettes at all

I'm a nicotine addict who's stopped smoking and get my fix via my nicotine vaporiser I don't have a problem with vaping or vaper, but it puzzles those not in the know. I don't really like referring to it as an e-cig - too close to smoking terminology.

I don't like using the term e-cig really as people tend to think that I'm still smoking, which I'm not. However saying I'm a vaper sounds a bit weird.
If I had to choose though I would choose vaper or vaporizer over e-cigs just because I don't smoke.

Don't like the verb vape - sounds too similar to rape to me.
Don't like the noun vaper as people think you are saying vapour and it just irritates me constantly being asked "what did you say it's called again?"
So, I call it "whiffling with a whiffler." It's caught on -all my 6 converts also use the term!
If I am showing it to someone, I describe it as an electric cigarette to begin with.

I hadn't thought about it before, but I don't like the words cigarette, or cig being involved with what I do either.
I might have to think about this one.

A couple of terms that were used in the early days of ecigs were fogging and steaming - they never took off but fogging seems like a reasonable description

sorry, don't like fogging sounds like dogging don't like toot or tooting, back to herb type terms will have to have a think about whiffling, but I'm really not sure, where I come from to whiff means to smell

Aaah, Karma, to whiff here is also to stink quite badly.... But we never say we're having a whiff - we say we are about to indulge in a whiffle! Ali x
