Hey, I suffered with painful mouth ulcers from time to time and tried everything like you to eliminate what could be causing them. Have you tried playing around with your ratios at all? 100vg cleared this up for a bit but I also found that it was to heavy (thick) for my lungs and it made me slightly wheezy, anyhow after playing around 8020 seems to be the happy place. Hope you find the right set up

I can only use Kanthal coils really, NI & SS make me wheeze & cough terrible, been using the same set up's for a couple of yrs now with the odd foray into other tanks/coils but have to go back to old faithfuls to keep the wheeze at bay. Metal allergies are very common, it's just figuring out which metal is causing it 🤨 Also have to keep my PG level down as much as poss as that makes me wheeze & cough as well. Luckily haven't suffered rashes or owt like that though.

You cut out PG, Flavours and Nic, is VG the elephant in the room. Seriously though VG intolerance it is far from unknown it's just less common than PG intolerance. These sh1t days you will have to mix your own liquid because clouds won over flavour and social responsibility (not fogging out the room). This.
Something about vaping is causing you grief.
So what are all the items that make up a vape that could affect you in this way?
The Coil and the Juice.
So - into smaller parts The coil = the wire. Have you tried a different metal (SS vs Kanthal or whatever) The wick = often cotton. Have you tried an alternative - like rayon?
The juice Nic VG PG Flavour And perhaps some distilled water too.
I think you've said you've eliminated most from the juice aspect - although as VapingBad suggests, it might be the VG. Try raw PG & nic as a test. (But be prepared - it'll be a harsh vape and you'll need to drink more water).
But you might also try changing the metal of the wire and also the wick material too. One change at a time.
Good luck with it.

If you are using zero nic and flavourless eliquid you may as well suck a chopstick cut down to size or am I missing something

Get what you're saying Ron . . . . I'm going to suggest though that the hand to mouth action, exhaling vapour is all part of smoking replacement for many, regardless of flavour or any nicotine. If you can fool your head into thinking it's still smoking then that has to be part of the process.
Whether I could manage doing as preston234 does, I don't know, nor would I want to be in the unfortunate position she finds herself in. But if it's keeping this good lady from smoking, then that has to be a positive?
I only hope for her sake that some solution can be found . . . . .

Exactly that Perpetua!!!! you would think i could just do without, but the urge to vape flavourless and zero nic is just as strong as before, and at all the same times, after a meal, while enjoying a glass of wine etc etc Also the VG is sweet, despite being unflavoured so it does taste somewhat. Having said that i would love a nice pear drops, high nic, PG throat hit but alas! its been around 2 years or more since i could do this Ive emailed a few vape companies but most are not sure what metals are in their ecigs, what i really need is a fairy godmother to sell me a metal free, coil free, hypoallergenic ecig but im sure they dont exist Thanks for all your comments!!!

... Does anything spring to mind as to whether you made some change around 2 years ago? Device or otherwise, that may have had adverse effects? (Not saying that allergies don't just develop.... but wondered if there might be any more clues).

Hi, I think the allergy was there for a couple of years before i worked out it was from vaping. At first i thought it was dust and plaster causing the rash and redness as we were renovating. It was only after we finished the house that i was able to suspect vaping was the culprit. I ignored it for quite some time because i didnt want to give up vaping and i guess its no better, no worse in the last 2-4 years, its just persistent and more reactive if i vape more

Ah! Premade gear, commercial prebuilt coils.
Maybe you know a vaper who can rig up a couple of REBUILDABLE atties for you. Set one with, say, stainless coils and a second with Kanthal and put 'em to the test. There are other metals used, but there's a starting point.
Rinse and repeat with different wick materials - say cotton and rayon to start.
Those techie words may not mean a lot to you, but a face to face with an experienced vape hardware person - maybe in a *helpful* vape shop - would certainly know these things and hopefully would be able to help you thro the setup and testing.
Whilst I'm not saying you need to go into fully rebuildable gear permanently, I do suggest this as a possible means to help diagnose possible things that may be causing you grief.

I still wouldn't rule out the VG being the issue, try some 100% PG juice as an easy potential fix..

Yep. Exactly.
Only go to the coil and wicking if that VG/PG test doesn't sort things.

You might have to try a plastic/delrin drip tip rather than the metal ones too.
