I don't know if anyone else has spotted this announcement:
I had an email from Tjuice to the same effect . . . . apparently PP have decided it's not ' ethical ' to sell e-cigarette related items! 
What about all the sellers on Ebay and Amazon I wonder - are they going to just cull those!
Personally, with no disrespect intended to the Chinese, but I'm not terribly happy using my cards directly to buy items . . . . that said, I purchased a couple of items last week and found there to be very little difference in prices from the UK and China - so I was able to support UK Vendors, which I'd prefer to do anyway. ( The ridiculous 2ml tank law aside. )
But it's a huge kick in the teeth, at a time when they need it least for any business which uses PP. 
( Potential solutions . . .
1. Buy a non ecig article with the same value of your ecig items using PP, cancel your order and ask for a Gift Certificate and use that to buy your requirements. Probably best to buy something that is not in stock for cancellation purposes.
Or
2. Buy a Gift Certificate using PP. )

Indeed andi . . . . however I'm fine with using a card directly to pay with companies like these, PP is just so convenient though.
All this because our life saving habit has been so wrongfully demonised - makes me very angry!

Yeah I'm a PayPal kinda buyer, just find it easy and have protection with what I buy online with PP.
Looks like there are some work arounds for FT like you listed though, but to be fair I've not used FT in a long time as like you said nowadays there's only a few quid in it between Chinese vendors and UK vendors,....

Les from Juice Cabin had loads of problems many years back with PayPal so his site has never used PP for a long time.
They held a load of his money for months but he finally got it all back.

Cutting off payment processing is bad enough.
Cutting it off with no notice is worse.
Cutting it off and holding funds for months when businesses are already under pressure because of the virus is just taking the piss.
