The good news though is that they cant really ban them, because unlike tobacco cigs, they leave no trace. We will just have to go stealth, and vape subtly without them knowing I'm not an anarchist by any means, but that is not good enough > I don't want to stealth vape when I don't need to.

Exactly..Why should we hide when we are doing nothing wrong...We are not chasing the dragon are we? I don't care what anyone thinks when I am vaping or hide it. If anyone asks, I explain, if anyone objects I just say "google it".

They did the same thing with vitamins and supplements so I guess they want to get their greasy paws on this too. Codex alimentarius has already made supermarkets double their prices on such things.
Big business and Government want a (big) slice of the pie. :-[

''Health professionals do not recommend the use of e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid or a lower-risk option than continuing to smoke due to a lack of evidence of their safety and efficiency.'' FFS! They want people to continue to smoke instead of using e-cigs? Words fail me. Words failed the author of that piece - "efficacy" is what they're groping for. dictionary.reference.com/browse/efficacy?s=t

Complete joke, 15 years smoking now I finally find something that I reckon is going to help me quit, in a week i have halved the amount i smoke, one for my 2 month old daughter, two for lots of other reasons... sometimes it really does wind me up when they bang on about getting people to quit smoking constantly advertise how bad it is, do this do that the irony being that they don't ban tobacco outright ;-) but because they don't have their grubby little mitts all over said ecig industry, they have to try and ruin it.... sometimes i truly hate and despise big industry poxy hypocrites!

As a ' committed ' ex-smoker . . . I share your sentiments Ciar. Congratulations on doing so well.

This is what I've just emailed gerry whatsit the Chief exec of NHS Tayside...
It was with most distress and concern that I read on my e-cig forum (all about e-cigarettes) that NHS Fife had banned e-cigs on their premises and that NHS Tayside were considering doing the same.
I have s*** and have tried every pharmaceutical product I can get my hands on to quit cigarettes. The reality was stark. After 20 hours or less I was becoming mentally unwell, with every health care professional telling me to 'go back on the cigs'. I have, since using the e-cig, gone from smoking 1oz (an awful lot) of tobacco a day to the odd cigarette a week and the occasional 1/2 oz when really unwell (twice in 9 months).
Not only that but all my e-cig paraphernalia I fund myself because it is far cheaper than cigs so I am no burden to the NHS in any way. In fact less so. Yes there are concerns with staff poisoning of my e-liquid should I ever be admitted the psychiatric units whilst on the e-cig but I have gotten round that by stating that only I am to handle my e-liquids and they are to be kept in the pharmacy.
I have not had one battery explode in the 9 months I've used the e-cig either. I don't stack batteries so I can't for see it being a problem. E-cig chargers are no worse than that of the apple iphone and you are not exactly going to ban those on the wards.
So with that I ask to seriously consider all the recent evidence not just what the BMA shove out on e-cigs. The recent evidence is surprisingly in favour of the e-cig (CF all about e-cigarette forum (http://allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=7665&page=1 - there's another link somewhere on here to research but I can't find it speedily) and also ECF - e-cigarrette forum (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ - sorry again you'll have to do a search to find the research) and I for one know I am a lot happier and healthier from using the e-cig
I look forward to hearing from you shortly
Might be worth others doing the same to NHS Fife?
Jane

NHS Tayside were lovely.... wrote a lovely snail mail letter in reply saying they were awaiting national research due to be published in August (anyone know anything about this) and in the mean time the policy was just to use e-cigs in the smoking shelters. But Fife were so rude twas unreal!!!! And now I have a battle with a* a+E over not being allowed to vape in the cublcle on saturday night (so I've emailed the tobacco control office cos I'm nice ).....Argh. Said stupid stuff and like 'we're right you're wrong'...just cos I have a mental health prob Jane
