I was sitting at work today reading the Courier DD'ing with my Riva, flipped the page and found this... ArticleSo it led me to read the guidance by... BMA - there's a pdf link to the guidance. I definitely don't know all the in's and out's of e-cigs save the basics so I can't really comment on the chemicals they are referring too but I've never, from any supplier I've bought from, read that they are an e-cig substitute. It has always been stipulated that it is 'NOT'. Just thought I'd share.

It is just a way of the government trying to control things where they should be looking towards the big things.
I read the report by the BMA and in the list of reasons that they give for not using a vape device in the work place is because Nicotine is addictive, no S@&T, I see that there is no BMA report about the intake of caffine in the workplace...

Quite true batty bet they are not banning inhalators either, ermm it's nicotine either way.
Edited to add:
They banned because of a fire hazard which relates to any heating elements. Hmmm does that mean that hot meals and cups of tea are also banned because of the hazards of kettles and heated food trolleys?

Ah but urns etc have to be PAT tested. So if you get your gear tested and get a little tag....

The BMA is getting quite active in trying to get e-cigs banned.
Also I think PAT is for anything powered bymains supply and which can be moved whilst plugged in to the mains and not powered by a battery..Otherwise all of us have to get PAT labels on mobiles..

It goes deeper than the BMA wanting to ban Ecigs I'd imagine.
There's the machinations of the Pharmaceutical Companies somewhere in this.

That BMA document reads like it was written backwards: conclusion first, then skewed analysis and argument to reach the conclusion, then selective presentation of evidence to support the analysis. Apparently PVs shouldn't be allowed because other people might then think it's acceptable to smoke; you mustn't do something legal in case other people think it's okay to do something illegal. It bothers me that people who might be in charge of my health are capable of such sophistry. I hope the authors will be giving up their cars, because driving safely might convince other drivers that it's okay to do 90mph on the pavement.

No more tea breaks for staff. The kettle has a heating element and also produces vapour when it boils

I strongly suspect that the MHRA has had its fingers in that document, as well as Big Pharma - the timing is too suspect and the documents they reference are so outdated and debunked it's unbelievable.

''Health professionals do not recommend the use of e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid or a lower-risk option than continuing to smoke due to a lack of evidence of their safety and efficiency.''
FFS! They want people to continue to smoke instead of using e-cigs? Words fail me.

To be fair, drugs undergo rigorous testing before they are released. Vaping does appear to be much better, but docotors can't just recommend things that seem better, they have to be proven. And so far they're not. Common sense is unfortunately not a defense in court.

Words fail me as well Big Pharm are so powerful, they control just about everything we do & think. From washing our clothes, pet food & of course, any medication we take, they have their fingers in every pie

The good news though is that they cant really ban them, because unlike tobacco cigs, they leave no trace. We will just have to go stealth, and vape subtly without them knowing
