I have a Riva 1100mAh Battery which is 2 months old. It has worked fine until Friday evening when I tried to charge it after using it that day. The charger showed the green light so thinking I'd been confused and was charging the wrong battery, I continued to use it. After around 10 minutes, the battery stopped working altogether, although the button on it still lights up steady blue, as if there is charge there. (If there's no charge, the button flashes blue). I put it back on charge and the red light came on the charger but only stayed on for 5 minutes before going green. In the meantime my other Riva battery died so I put it on charge and it seemed to charge fine. I've tried raising the centre pin on the one that won't charge, just in case that was the problem but it hasn't made any difference. I'm not sure if the fault is with the battery or if the charger is only working when it wants to. I'm totally clueless with "techy stuff" so is there anything else I can do to test these out? Any advice would be great

If the other battery is charging ok I would think the charger is fine, not sure what the garantee is on your Riva, if its still under warranty maybe contact the vendor and see what they advice, hope your sorted soon.

Have you tried cleaning the connector on the bat? If it's gunked up with juice it won't charge!

Hi Karma, I've cleaned it thoroughly so I don't think thats the problem. Hi Macca, I didn't expect a resposne from you until the Grand Prix had finished I'll email the vendor and see what he say's. I'm using an adaptor plug with my charger and the connection does seem a little loose. That's why I'm unsure if the charger/plug is iffy. Is there anything I can do to test all of this stuff? I have a multimeter here but don't have a clue how to use it ???

If it's charging the other battery with no issues I'd be inclined to belive it was the battery that was faulty. If you have ruled out the center pin, and haven't had it for ages then give the vendor a shout and see what they can advise.

Hi Jemima
I do think its the battery because I've just tried them both again and the older one is charging but the newer one shows fully charged. I'll send an email to the vendor now

I have one (my oldest) that stays green for quite awhile before it turns red to indicate its charging, dont know how long its been doing that for but still works well.

I've tried fiddling with it, screwing it in slowly, part way etc. but no joy. I left if for 3 hours but still no joy. The thing is, the blue light on the battery button still comes on and stay on while you push it. Usually, when the battery is low, it flashes ???
