I just realised you all thought that I was asking what I should do, and if you agreed that I should get stuff out of a supplier from on here. None of you (bar esmecullen) actually said first off what you would do lol.

I had the same last week. Two packages were dumped in my porch and left there that should have been signed for. One was from a vendor and the other for an atty I bought on UKV. They didn't even put them through my letter box, just left them on a shelf in my unlocked porch.
Must have been too hard for the postman to lean forward a little and actually put it through the letter box. It's not like they were huge packages.
The RM have hiked their prices and the service seems to be getting worse.
I always let the seller know what happened so they can try and claim the Recorded Delivery cost back.

Just splitting hairs, but what difference does it make if it's an individual, a small vendor or RM. It would still be stealing - you wouldn't consider robbing banks fair game I'm sure.

I have never intentionally "done" anyone in my life... I have to much respect for me !!!
I would rather do a good turn than a bad and have always found it to be the best way.. I like to sleep at night with a clear concience.

I constantly get stuff that's to be signed for but don't sign because our local van driver can't be arsed to deliver so poor postie Danny on foot brings them . Now I am quite glad you raised this topic as I will in future email suppliers and let them know it is recieved

If it's signed for, does the vendor get notification that it has arrived? I didn't think so.
I have a deal with my local posties, that if I'm not at home they will sign on my behalf and leave it in the porch, which I think is brilliant.

No, we dont get any notification, but can check it online if someone claims non delivery.
Without a signature though - it's worthless against a Paypal Chargeback

That is great womble, I only live about 200 yards from my post center & get a different postie virtually every day.
