Weight Gain

Every other attempt at stopping the nasties has resulted in massive weight gain for me...3 stone in three months last attempt. Dreading this again as I've only managed to get rid of 1 since then.

Have you put weight on since you started vaping ???

Nope, if anything the opposite. I've found I snack less in the evenings, mainly because I tend to vape constantly, a puff every few minutes instead of a cig every hour or so with biscuits in between.

A lot of people report no weight gain. When you give up fags normally you replace the hand-to-mouth action with snacking, and as your taste buds improve your appetite improves, so further eating. With vaping, however, you have the hand-to-mouth action with your PV and you can get every flavour you need to tease your shiny new tastebuds

I find that you spend more time playing with your vaping stuff so that it gives your hands something to do, plus you have that oral 'smoking' sensation so your not chewing gum/eating.

Same as Fagin, probably lose weight.

No weight gain for me either

I have hypothyroidism and was very surprised that I needed an increase in dose recently, I knew I wasn't feeling quite right but I didn't think it was anything to do with my thyroid as I hadn't gained any weight. Normally if I'd gone hypo the first sign would be weight gain.

So, i pressume I would have lost weight if it hadn't been for that

I'm a right fatty anyway and snacking is a bad habit, but with the vaping I still get the hand to mouth thing going on (which I think is part of the problem with weight gain when quitting). I haven't put on any weight at all since quitting

No weight gain here either As others have said, vaping is so different than any other method as you still have the hand to mouth habit, the relaxing inhale/exhale of the vapour, plus the nicotine. So there is just no need for sucking sweets or comfort eating

And for me, my bank balance is very healthy & has gained a lot
