I'm thinking of trying a Bauway LR 306 atty for direct dripping. I'm just looking for a little extra info/advice. Firstly, am I right in thinking that it's OK to go as low as 1.7-1.9ohms when using a 900mah battery? I haven't seen any info saying to avoid this, but I guess it would be wise to check. Second, I've read that the bridgeless versions are better for cleaning (and therefore better for frequently swapping juices), but I've also read that they spit more (and therefore might often give you a mouthful of hot juice). Can anyone with experience of dripping into both comment on these factors? (Is there anything that can be done to protect against the bridgeless one spitting? Like an extra long drip tip maybe?) Finally, I have a request for any of you crazy talented people who are skilled at ripping these things apart, modding, tinkering, etc. Do you have any nice clear photos of the insides of these atties which you could use to explain to me the difference between bridged and unbridged? Cheers! Oh, btw, if anyone has any better suggestions for direct dripping than a LR 306, then I'd also be happy to hear those as well.

I've only used the bridged 306's Kuroto, so I can't speak for both versions . . . Prof has posted quite a few blog pieces on the merits of the different varieties of them - I'll see if I can find some links for you. ukvapers.com/blog/9/entry-345-olympic-lr306-atomiser/ukvapers.com/blog/9/entry-379-goodsense-vapor-306dca-cloud-9-vaping-special-edition-kit/These are the most recent entries, you may want to search his blog for others on the 306's. Long 306 Drip Tips are also available . . . and I clean my bridged ones, by soaking them in denture cleaner for a few hours, then rinsing through with hot water, works a treat. If you'd like to have a go at dripping, then you might like to try a 901 . . . the LR version, like the 306 will be fine to use on your 900mAH battery.

Thanks for the links, Perps. Looks like there's loads of detailed info in those blogs. (Possibly too much! I fear yet more information overload! ) I'm just curious: how many members of this forum drip as their primary means of vaping? And how many drip only when wanting to quickly sample flavours? I'd also be interested to hear people's personal preferences: when you do drip, what bits of kit do you use, and why? (And are there things you've tried but not been impressed with?) The reason I'm asking these follow-up question is less to do with seeking advice and more to do with just getting to know people on the forum a bit better.

I only really drip to try new flavours, I'm not a huge fan of atomisers to be honest I don't really know why lol I just prefer tanks and clearos

Hi Kuro... im a huge dripping convert i first heard of dripping and i thought what a faff but decided to give it a go as everyone said its the purest way to vape. so i grabbed some 510 attys and gave it a go... or should i say tried to give it a go.. epic fail... i got alternating weird tasting draws along with burn draws, flooded attys and juice leaking... so i threw in the towel next attempt I tried a 901 and discovered the flavour i was searching for ...but and its a big but, the design of the 901 where the air hole is located under the coil meant i was covered in juice so again that idea went out of the window. i then attended Vapefest and a guy showed me a 306... (i had heard of these but had never realised they were a 510 connection) he gave me a toot or two and i was well impressed, so got home and ordered myself a joye 306. the joye 306 was fab... really easy to work out how much juice to drip and a lovely vape i had found a perfect dripping atty but as with everything vaping i thought i would try a few more different brands including the Bauway and Most Angry along with a DCA which brings the best out of the experience... i now find myself dripping whenever i can ...pop in 5 drops into a DCA with a bauway 1.5ohm bridgeless @ 4volts ...perfection on the subject or bridged or bridgeless i decided to de bridge some of my attys and discovered i preferred them bridgeless for the reasons you gave above. i personally dont get spitting... de bridging is simple just get some tweezers and gently peal away the mesh bridge. you will be left with a metal bridge that will just pull out

drip shields are only really used for 901 attys... they hold any juice that comes out of the air hole
you dont need a DCA but if you really get to liking the 306 they would be a good investment

A 306 in a DCA is a superb combination. I prefer the performance and flavour from direct dripping but I can only really enjoy it when I'm comfy at home. I have no problem cleaning the bridged versions either, I have a LARGE syringe with some pipe attached to the end and I just put the 306 back into its cover and insert it into the pipe, submerge it in water and use the syringe to force clean hot water through. Faff free and quickly done

I ditto on all the above Kuro. I started with the Bauway for testing new flavours...and got hooked on them. Now mostly drip when at home. I also debridged and dewicked the ones I had (pair of strong tweezers), simply because they dont hold as much of the previous juice that way, making it a scoosh to change flavours quickly. Have suffered no spitting at all, but to indulge my love of all things shiny, I recently got the chrome DCA and it simply makes the dripping experience less faff-full and looks amazing. The best place for the Bauway's is Vapourhut - £3.99 each no postage.

Ordered a couple of 306s to try out, and juice-wise went for GTFO, Dew Des Mountain and Vape Nectar. Will let you know what I think. It's funny, but when I started vaping, I was using what came with my ego starter kit: cartridges with a standard 510 atty. Shortly after that, I tried dripping and stopped using the cartridges altogether. Recently, I've been trying out various different items to try and find what works best for me (boge lr cartos, stardusts, ce2s, etc) and even though I quite like the convenience of some of them (boges especially), I've recently gone back to dripping on the 510 atties I initially stocked up on. Dripping just seems like more of a pure flavour to me. As I've seen a lot of people say: cartos always carry the slight taste of the filling material, and clearos seem to have a plasticy aftertaste. So I think dripping is going to be my way forward.

Dripping has always been my preferred method of vaping Kuroto, it's just not so convenient somehow for out and about or work though . . . it's easier to have a tank/carto of some description. But flavour wise, dripping wins every time for me.

I just thought I'd report back on this. I've been dripping with the LR 306s for a few days now, and I'm getting the best vapes I've had so far. Much more vapour and flavour than I've had from anything else I've used. Some of the sweeter juices I have don't work so well (I think they do better with higher resistances so that they taste cooler), but with my two favourite Griz juices, Peanut Butter and Red Dog, the 306s are excellent.
