re the lenny bit with rolf i think it was a "technical hitch and a fill in spot rolf stepped in and lenny got the nod to push forward hence the appology and allowed dear rolf to finalize his song, thought charlie did a good thing with his speech tonight all the other olds did well they just cant retire gracefully and we should acknowledge them in their prime not just this live session missing in my opinion was the great mick jagger and david bowie
didnt her maj look good again tonight despite her tiredness and worries of her husband
stevie wonder just blew it away he can really still send my foot tapping

Too right Collie, never mind what I think of the monarchy, you have to admire Her Maj. She must be so worried about her hubby

I echo your comment re. the monarchy Kirsty, but must admit, since Diana's death, they've made a wholehearted attempt to get closer to the public & tonight, they've gone way up in my estimation....Chas's speech was great & the Queen genuinely looked emotional.........made me proud to be British............... I think its a lot to do with the younger senior Royal's Charles and Anne in particular seemed to resent their positions, whereas not only do William and Harry embrace it they look to use their positions for the good of their Country and Commonwealth and they aren't afraid too put them selves out by doing so. They also let themselves be seen in a more human way (in Harry's case sometimes too human lol). Of course the constant media following of Will and Kate's romance helped everybody loves a good fairy tale! Also Zara Tindale (nee Phillips) seems like an absolute hoot who would get on with anyone regardless of background ... EDIT To add quote looked a bit of context

Yes, Kirsty, the younger royals are 'keeping it more real'! I tried not to be drawn into the Royal Wedding last year but couldn't help myself, they are a lovely couple

Ahh the Royal wedding was great, me and my Mum went too my Grannies and watched it together a real family occasion and lovely as well ,
Should add here my Gran's English, my Mum's British , I'm a Scottish, British European
and my Dad's a sad nationalist republican which is why me and my Mum had to get out the house lol!

Shame Phillip had to miss last night and the rest of the celebrations . . . for a person of his age, he didn't half do well on Sunday.

Peed me off that the organisers allowed 2 pensioners suffer the elements for such a long period , there should have been better protection from the weather , no bloody wonder Phil is ill . Respect to everyone who stood there in the wind and rain , it must have been freezing by the end of the day Oh and the concert last nite was brilliant

I didnt watch the concert, it didnt really appeal to me although if I'd have know Grace Jones was performing I would have watched her slot. I was up on the downs freezing my bum off watching the beacons being lit and then saw the fireworks
Our village hall has a 1950's kitchen exhibition going so will be popping to that shortly
