My experience with e-cigarettes began about a year ago, I was talking with someone who had tried them, but his opinion was that they didn’t do it for him, so I didn’t research them further. Anyway a year later (just two weeks ago) I saw the 10 motives e cig in Tescos and brought a tobacco one and a menthol one. The tobacco one tasted horrible like chewing burnt electrical wire, however the menthol 10 motives was quite a nice flavour and I thought ‘this could help me give up the fags’. We were on holiday at the time, so when we got back I started researching e-cigs, after shopping around on t’internet and reading a lot of useful information on the various forums (this one included) oh and also the obligatory discussion with Mia, we decided that a Jacvapour V1P kit was the one to go for. The V1P duly arrived, I felt like a kid at xmas when the postie knocked the door last Saturday. My first thoughts were thank goodness we can now stop smoking the dreaded weed. Now I’d only ordered two batteries with the V1P one for me and one for Mia and soon found out that it wasn’t enough, Mia had the PCC as she was working and I had the usb charger as I was at home, but the batteries soon wear down and I was then left with no vape for a couple of hours whilst it charged up. I did still have my rollies as back up, but even only after a day of vaping they tasted yuk! And I did want to pack them up, so after a bit more research on Sunday I found a specialist e- cigs shop called smokenosmoke, it’s about 20 mins drive away and was open on bank holiday Monday. Well as soon as Mia saw the pink eGo she had to have one, probably something to do with it being pink has a battery and is about 6” long, I dunno anyway after a bit of wheeling and dealing and trying out lots of flavours, we both came away with an eGo-T with a Vision clearomiser conversion and 4 more juices to savour We got home Mia went to work and I vaped my head off all afternoon with the new and shiney eGo (she still had her V1P with her). So whilst I’m sat there enjoying a ‘cappuccino’, I’m now thinking what if the eGo battery breaks or the clearomiser stops working, I’ve got no spares, well I’ve got the V1P as back up, but it just ain’t the same as the eGo. So after more research on t’internet and checking the bank balance I’ve ordered an eGo Vision and some spare clearomisers from Liberty Flights. Mia comes home from work and can’t wait to give her new ‘Pinky’ (yes it’s got a name too) a good vaping. I tell Mia about the spare eGo’s I’ve ordered and she thinks it’s a good idea phew! Ok so some of you reading this may possibly think ‘wow that’s a lot of dosh we’ve spent in what is only a few days’ and your right it is, just over £200, but you know what, it’s worth every penny because we have both now stopped smoking tobacco, something both of us have tried and failed at so many times! Also that £200 includes about a month’s worth of juice, so if we take off the cost of fags for the next month which is about £80 the cost of the e-cigs is about £120 for both of us and they should last us at least 6 months before having to replace them. Taking my relatively short experience into account my advice to anyone who is considering buying an e-cig for the first time is this. 1. Do it! 2. Get a disposable e-cig first if you’re not sure. 3. Join a forum and ask questions, you’ll learn from others mistakes 4. Don’t penny pinch, don’t be a miser, this is your life, you are worth it! 5. Make sure you order plenty of spares, all parts are disposable! 6. If you’re a light smoker 10/day (max) then a look-alike will do (for now) 7. Any more than 10/day get an eGo or Riva with a Vision clearomiser 8. Use the discount codes 9. Don’t worry about looking daft in the fag shelter, they will love you 10. Smile! your life has taken a new turn for the better Ian&Mia

Great post Ian and Mia It's really good for others to read about your experiences, and I would think that yours is very similar to most of the rest of us I was exactly the same as you....had one real cig the day I started with my first e-cig....and it was horrible....and not touched another one since #icon_rofl# Vaping is fantastic

Fantastic post. It probably mirrors the experiences of the majority of us here - I know it does mine. As far as the expense is concerned, it can be a heavy initial outlay, especially with two of you vaping. Being a bit of an obsessive, I started a spreadsheet when I began vaping to track my spends and the money I saved on fags. I broke even around the two month mark, and that was after going from the lookalike to a riva, then buying a mini argento and a lavatube. As with many 'hobbies', you can spend as much as you're prepared to or as little as you need to. Either way it's hugely enjoyable.

I daren't do a spreadsheet for vaping, just as I ignored the cost of smoking. I always seem to think I have enough stuff for 3 months, yet I always find something to buy....
Great post, I love posts like this.

We have a spreadsheet, and we've broke even now. Mind you, we have enough batteries, clearos and juice to last a few months. Now to save for the Vapefest
