Blue, it is frustrating when folk are unable to listen to sound advice, I approached two smokers at work about the benefits of vaping, one said she wasn't ready to give up smoking yet, but would come see me when she was, the other said he'd tried an e cig previously and it didn't do it for him. So I've left them to it, they'll either come to me or they won't.
Sometimes the more you push the more you push them away.

I don't think we can count VAT as that's on everything, it's the crazy duties that will hurt, and apart from nicotine juice, it will be impossible to apply higher taxes to all the other bits. And if juice is taxed heavily, then surely all NRT's will need to be? That should cheer up the drug companies. I agree with you about the crazy duties hurting. But unfortunately all the government has to do, is label vaping juice containing nicotine as something other than NRT and then impose an extortionate rate of tax on it. Once some government sponsored laboratory has proved that vaping is bad for your health? They'll have all the ammunition they need to impose that extortionate duty.

It's going to be difficult to tax. A mod is just a battery holder. Cartos etc are easily available from China, bases are readily available and flavours could be sold as just that, food flavour or something. That just leaves the nicotine part. Just a little bottle - how are they going to trace them? It's not like container loads of cigarettes. Sorry to disagree fagin, but vaping is already taxed in the form of vat @ 20% With regard to a new duty on nicotine liquid it's just a stroke of a pen at number 11 Downing St. Unfortunately we have to accept that unless we protest the hell out of government, vaping will attract some form of revenue raising quango. What we don't want to happen is for supplies of nicotine liquid to go underground and start being smuggled into the country, goodness knows what it would contain? Hopefully the government will see sense when it comes down to taxation of vaping products, but for that we'll just have to wait and see.

I've only bought through DX once . . . may have been unlucky, but it took over 3 months for the items to reach me. I'll pop your thread onto the General Vaping discussion if I may Ian. No problem Perps

Hi Folks I came across this website earlier today www.silverpuffin.co.uk/I wish to make it clear that I have no affinity to the above website whatsoever. They have a special offer on some of their eGo-T's - £19.95 with free postage. So purely in the interests of consumer research and not because it's shiny, you understand, I have placed an order for one. When and if it arrives I'll let you know what its like. p.s. Dear Mods please accept my apologises if I have posted this in the wrong place, I am only a simply male after all!

Hi outnumbered I looked at the VGO from jacvapour but decided on an EGO simply because of the availability of parts and accessories, the ego is far more popular and many suppliers stock them. (You're probably aware of the different battery fitting by now.)
Before buying our back up EGO's I shopped around many websites and decided that the Vision EGO from Liberty Flights was the best deal, it arrived last Saturday and I was well impressed with the kit.
If you register with Liberty Flights you can have your own affinity code (no need to use anyone else's code) and get 10% off the order placed plus another 5% to spend at a later date, so a total of 15% off, plus if you review the products you buy they add 17p per review to your account. So if you do your own affinity code it comes out at £34 plus postage
If you do go for the one from Liberty's don't forget to order an extra couple of Vision clearomisers as there is only one with the kit. Liberty's clearomisers work perfectly and appear to be good quality. Their VG flavours are pretty good too.

Another update if your interested folks Wednesday evening of last week I ordered a spare eGo for Mia and myself, plus some more juices to try, oh and a couple of zip cases to put all our new shinies in. Well Friday came and went and no postman So Saturday morning we were constantly looking out the window for a postman, waiting and waiting, Anyway time was getting on so we decided to get on with our day, five minutes later there was a knock at the door, we both shouted it's the postman! it's the postman! Sure enough there he was - our hero!! To give you an idea of the atmosphere in the house, well -childhood Xmas and birthdays spring to mind. Like a couple of kids we cosseted our new toys and started to sample the new juices - kids in a sweetshop we definitely were. All the juices were pure VG, we both agreed they were a much better vape than the previous PG, PG/VG mixes. There was plenty of vapour and a more smoother vape, no soreness in our throats. Mia chose lemon as her favourite and I baggsied the chocolate cream, apple came in a close second for both of us, third place went to the Winston tobacco Consequently there has been an order placed for some 30ml bottles of lemon, chocolate cream and apple, along with some 5ml sample bottles of RY4 and Golden tobacco. Come mid week it looks likes there could be a re-occurance of Saturday morning Ian & Mia p.s. neither of us has had or so much as desired a horrible stinky all week

Ok tried direct inhale - it certainly clears your throat and definitely gives flavour on the exhale, not sure what my nicotine levels are now though

Ohhh Ian remember what I said about wanting a shop near me. Well I think there is one near me or at least a distributor. I saw the sign as we drove past tonight. I feel a second childhood coming on

Thanks for all the positive comments and congratulations folks Just a short update to the story so far, Mia has read my original post and I have promptly received a gentle slap regarding the comment about her eGo being pink with batteries. I have also watched some videos of how to re-wick our Visions and subsequently ordered some coil wire and wick (more cost saving expense) I thought nicotine was addictive but this vaping lark is in a different league

My experience with e-cigarettes began about a year ago, I was talking with someone who had tried them, but his opinion was that they didn’t do it for him, so I didn’t research them further. Anyway a year later (just two weeks ago) I saw the 10 motives e cig in Tescos and brought a tobacco one and a menthol one. The tobacco one tasted horrible like chewing burnt electrical wire, however the menthol 10 motives was quite a nice flavour and I thought ‘this could help me give up the fags’. We were on holiday at the time, so when we got back I started researching e-cigs, after shopping around on t’internet and reading a lot of useful information on the various forums (this one included) oh and also the obligatory discussion with Mia, we decided that a Jacvapour V1P kit was the one to go for. The V1P duly arrived, I felt like a kid at xmas when the postie knocked the door last Saturday. My first thoughts were thank goodness we can now stop smoking the dreaded weed. Now I’d only ordered two batteries with the V1P one for me and one for Mia and soon found out that it wasn’t enough, Mia had the PCC as she was working and I had the usb charger as I was at home, but the batteries soon wear down and I was then left with no vape for a couple of hours whilst it charged up. I did still have my rollies as back up, but even only after a day of vaping they tasted yuk! And I did want to pack them up, so after a bit more research on Sunday I found a specialist e- cigs shop called smokenosmoke, it’s about 20 mins drive away and was open on bank holiday Monday. Well as soon as Mia saw the pink eGo she had to have one, probably something to do with it being pink has a battery and is about 6” long, I dunno anyway after a bit of wheeling and dealing and trying out lots of flavours, we both came away with an eGo-T with a Vision clearomiser conversion and 4 more juices to savour We got home Mia went to work and I vaped my head off all afternoon with the new and shiney eGo (she still had her V1P with her). So whilst I’m sat there enjoying a ‘cappuccino’, I’m now thinking what if the eGo battery breaks or the clearomiser stops working, I’ve got no spares, well I’ve got the V1P as back up, but it just ain’t the same as the eGo. So after more research on t’internet and checking the bank balance I’ve ordered an eGo Vision and some spare clearomisers from Liberty Flights. Mia comes home from work and can’t wait to give her new ‘Pinky’ (yes it’s got a name too) a good vaping. I tell Mia about the spare eGo’s I’ve ordered and she thinks it’s a good idea phew! Ok so some of you reading this may possibly think ‘wow that’s a lot of dosh we’ve spent in what is only a few days’ and your right it is, just over £200, but you know what, it’s worth every penny because we have both now stopped smoking tobacco, something both of us have tried and failed at so many times! Also that £200 includes about a month’s worth of juice, so if we take off the cost of fags for the next month which is about £80 the cost of the e-cigs is about £120 for both of us and they should last us at least 6 months before having to replace them. Taking my relatively short experience into account my advice to anyone who is considering buying an e-cig for the first time is this. 1. Do it! 2. Get a disposable e-cig first if you’re not sure. 3. Join a forum and ask questions, you’ll learn from others mistakes 4. Don’t penny pinch, don’t be a miser, this is your life, you are worth it! 5. Make sure you order plenty of spares, all parts are disposable! 6. If you’re a light smoker 10/day (max) then a look-alike will do (for now) 7. Any more than 10/day get an eGo or Riva with a Vision clearomiser 8. Use the discount codes 9. Don’t worry about looking daft in the fag shelter, they will love you 10. Smile! your life has taken a new turn for the better Ian&Mia
