Well i had ago at it, very annoyed with myself. Fell asleep whilst counting the drops - i think. I woke up to find my nic and vg spilt over floor and my little boy saying naughty daddy you made mess.

I will try again today and let you know outcome of first liquid.

Calm down it was an accident, i didn't mean for him to get it. He said he didn't touch it. I've cleaned it up now anyway. I will give it another go after a cup of coffee. My coffee table looks like a little mixing lab, it's all very exciting!

I am only trying to stress the importance of not mixing in a place where children have access to it..

One drop gets on your children's skin and they will fall very ill and there is no cure for nicotine poisoning.. This area that you cleaned up may still be highly poisonous to children if they put their hands on it..They do not have the enzymes to break down nicotine. I quote:

I am only going to say this once and after that it's your life and your children and I am calm enough.

Runningwolf I echo everything macca says, and I will add that you should also be wearing gloves when handling high strength nicotine.

Would you fall asleep and let your kids play in the road? or in a swimming pool? or around a bonfire?

If you can't do this responsibly you should NOT be doing it AT ALL. We have tried to be helpful and polite, but you seem blind to the consequences of what you're doing and intent on ignoring sane advice

Whilst, it's extremely important to handle nicotine base safely . . . just to put things into context a little. Hifi vapes 48mg strength and Peter of Decadent Vapours fame, vapes 60mg.

Both are very much alive and kicking, but . . . they do know what they're doing.

What does concern and alarm me RW is your child having access to your nicotine base, albeit unintentionally.

I'd like to think that this is a one off, as the consequences don't bear thinking about.

I would like to add that vaping higher dosages is different to dermal (skin) contact..

Chronic smokers (40 + a day) can withstand 120 mg of nicotine but 60mg is considered a fatal dose, in adults..

No arguments from me Macca, I'm in complete agreement and should have pointed that out in my post, so an ommission on my part.

But, lets not beat RW up over this . . . the errors in his handling of nicotine base have been made VERY clear to him and I'd think a salutatry lesson learnt for him.

Heres a recipe runningwolf for a small sample:

9 drops 52mg base

Dilutants:

3 drops vodka
8 drops Plain VG
5 drops Flavour
1 drop Plain PG

will give you 26 drops of 18 mg approx 70PG/30VG e-juice @ 18% flavour strength. It will a very small quanitity for you to try. You can adjust the above but the rule for 52 mg to 18 mg is 17 drops of dilutant to every 9 drops of base.

Thank you i will give that recipe ago. I think i will wait for toddler to go to sleep, seeing as so many of you have advised against doing it around him.

I thought nicotine would smell but ive taken a big sniff from my nicotine and can't smell anything, is that normal?

Also i tried a juice that i think i finished last night, it taste ok although a bit strong. I have one hell of a headache now though, do you think its related to my juice?
