Well hello I have been much amused by the opinions lately expressed regarding the SD (who's got a better kit and so on and so on...) Each to their own! Anyhow, being still new to all this and having just progressed from the dse901- got my Screwdriver today, my major problem with it being the difficulty removing the safety cap!,,half an hour later I managed to get the thing off- btw, there were no instructions at all with the base kit which I got from TW. Whilst it isn't the most graceful looking e-cig, it's not that bad and I like it, so there!- I was not spending particularly large amounts on baccy in fact I am spending a LOT more on vaping. I think that this is nonetheless a good progression for new folk. I mainly chose it cos of the cheap battery price- ie.the tornado batteries @ £50 for a pk of five is a bit much no?. beepxx

Yes, Beepsy, Tornado batteries are a lot dearer - but they do last a long time. I honestly wouldn't know which would be best to buy, money-wise. However, as you have seen me and others say, the SD is a very good workaday vape. I hope you enjoy it. And I think it's quite nice-looking too scylla

My Tornado batteries have been very reliable - I'm still using two that are around 5 months old and there's no lack of vapour and they still take 1.5 hours to charge; I'm getting a good 3 to 4 hours vaping from them and I'm a heavy vaper. The benefit of the SD is that it should last for years if looked after properly and the batteries are cheap to buy (from China). I find the Tornado produces much more vapour than the 901 SD MKII and a stronger throat hit. The downside is the price of the batteries. Fox

Fox Surely, Foxy, what you are saying is you find the 510 atty produces more vapour and hit than a 901 - what's it like if you put the same atty on each? (I've found that big battery devices are all much the same used with the same atties myself)

Just to make a point here for possible newbie guests looking in: When Foxy says that her Tornado batteries last for 3 to 4 hrs that is because as she says, she is a heavy vaper and probably was a heavy smoker at one time. In contrast I was a light smoker, 15 to 20 cigs per day so I am now a light vaper and only use 1ml of juice per day. So in my case a Tornado battery will last me a day and a half and sometimes two days before I need to charge it. Hope that this helps someone who is trying to make up their mind about which device to purchase. I have no experience of the SD as I have not got one but have to say that I am completely happy with my Tornado. Ken.

My SDII is of the 901 variety and doesn't produce as strong a vapour/throat hit as my Tornado. With the adapter and 510 atty it is almost as good but not quite - it could be my imagination by I find the adapters affect the vapour production somewhat. The SD is best of all with an LR atty but those are not cost effective IMHO. Fox

Ken: I used to get much longer than 3 to 4 hours; my point was that my Tornado batteries are almost six months old so, like me, they're getting a little more feak and weeble but are still lively. (I used to smoke upwards of 40 a day of hand rolling tobacco cigarettes).Fox

Nooooooo !! Another SD thread !! Well hello I have been much amused by the opinions lately expressed regarding the SD (who's got a better kit and so on and so on...) Each to their own! I will not rest, until that stubborn rascal Raggy has bought a Riva !! Not really, seeing as each batty will last at least a good 6 months !! Still, you only need the two you get in a Starter Kit, as there will always be a better model coming out after a year !!
