Sky are putting their prices up in Sept.
I thought I might try Virgin , have been reading on MSE forum and a lot of people are saying their Tivio? is difficult to use, picture not too good unless you are watching in HD, but they have some good deals and cash back.
I am undecided, which have you got? Have thought about getting a Humax but you can't get channel FX and I watch that a lot.

I changed from Sky to Virgin and I'd never go back. The picture used to degrade on sky in bad weather, but the virgin pic is crystal clear all day every day. The virgin program guide/planner is not quite as slick as sky's but everything else is far superior IMO. And virgin broadband is simply stunning.

I threw a wobbly at sky last month and cancelled it. There were very sad faces in the household especially DH who watches Sky Sports. Sky tried to talk me out of it by offering me the package we have half price for 3 months but I stuck to my guns. About a week before it was due to be cut off Sky phoned and offered us the package we have half price for a whole year Very pleased as we can't get Virgin and we only get a small handfull of freeview stations as we are on an anciilliary mast

I've been with Virgin for 18 months, due to start a new contract soon, despite what I say during new contract negotiations I don't want to switch to sky. Virgin have very reliable broadband, super fast and consistant at high speeds too. The episode guide takes a little getting used to but it's better than sky IMO.

I am not unhappy with Sky, but my box is about 3 years old now so I expect it to breakdown and have to pay to have it repaired, you don't have that hassle with Virgin, it is all free.

I've only got the V + HD at the moment, but will get the TIVO when I upgrade, only because it's the latest tech and higher storage etc, there's nothing wrong with the V+ HD box

One of the great things about the Tivo is it has 3 tuners. So you can record 3 things at once, or be recording two while you watch a third

Got TiVo in one room and a V+ in the other, the TiVo box I don't like that much but the all round service is stunning, recently got upgraded to 60Mb broadband free of charge as well!!

I have been with Virgin for years and have never considered changing. The broadband is superb, I have the 100Mbps connection, no bandwidth or usage restrictions at all . I don't have Tivo just a V+ box... I have thought of upgrading but don't really need Tivo, my TV has a built-in HD recorder for freeview and there isn't a huge amount that I would want to record that isn't on freeview.
