Imeo, i'm not 100% sure, but i think it's a grey 17670 thats slightly too fat and has stuck fast.....i was wondering if a wee spray of WD40 down the tube, with ends removed, would help? if she has some, of course... pushing with a pen might do the trick too?

Imeo, this is what Lynda wrote recently: I have the brass GGTB. It's a pretty thing and easy to keep shiny, although quite a bit heavier than an aluminium one might be; I quite like the extra weight. It works wonderfully with my old 14500 batteries and an lr901 attie. Well, it will once I get round to un-jamming the 17670 which I managed to get stuck. It's a lovely simple piece of equipment that does what it says it will do.
Lynda Seems she's got a battery stuck (jammed) inside the "barrel" ??? scylla x

Imeo, Lynda bought some 17670 batteries to try out in her GGTB & has ended up with one of them tightly stuck as I'm guessing it's dimensions are not what they are meant to be. Lol, IMHO, what goes in, must come out Lynda, I think you are going to have to use brute force to get the battery out & I also think it would be best for safety issues to dispose of the battery afterwards. Not sure if you saw my previous post but if the casing of the battery is damaged, it really isn't safe to use.

if the ggtb is a tube (ive not got one YET LOL) i would find something very slightly smaller (this would keep the force even) than the tube diameter and use force, but i would follow the route the batt went in as opposed to pushing it back the way it came. as said already it went, so keep pushing it in till it comes out the other end. raggy..........

Raggy, If I push it in then I would have to remove the button and I don't know if that's possible.. I will hit the battery out tomorrow and then get rid of it. It's not going to be of any use to me. lol....
Once I've done that I'll turn my attention to sorting out my GGTS, maybe taking up Perpie's offer of showing it to her neighbours. I'm really not fit to be in charge of such things.....

Lynda, the button comes off, you'd have to remove it anyway, to clean the contact end...
To take it off, screw the button till it's in the locked position, then keep screwing and the whole button unit will unscrew...
if you're gonna be chucking the battery anyway, a wee bit of wd40 or even olive oil or something might make it a bit easier to get out..

I see now. I didnt understand the word jammed, lol
No reason to remove button. Take off the bottom cap and push the battery to come out from where it went inside. Also if you see that battery is peeled then you can put a tape around it.

The battery is out! It really took a bit of banging. I think the problem was not in the dimensions of the battery but in the 'slackness' of the wrapping. It had wrinkled and that made it almost impossible to budge. I think I'll probably use the smaller batteries from now on!

Excellent news Lynda! So far that's the best price I've seen on the black AW 17670's Lilac, but I'll shout if a better deal comes along!
