Hi all,had my ecig for a couple of months now and i finally cracked it last night.I was out on the town from 9 till 2 and not once did i need to go for a "fag".Before i went into each pub(and there was a few)i demonstrated the ecig to the bouncers and they all said i could "smoke" it indoors.I am still mixing the 2 but as said on previous threads,i am beginning to prefer the taste of the ecig.I think i need a lanyard of some kind as i find i reach for the fags when ive not got the ecig in my hand.If it was not for this board i would not have carried on with it,i have been lurking for at least 5 months and could not get my head around atties, carts etc,its not until you have one that things become clear,so thanks to everyone on here, you have all explained things so well and i can not see a time in the future where i will not have my ecig. One thing that does need explaining to newbies is the blowing out of the new atties as i found the taste repulsive, nowhere in the instructions does it mention this,so once again, thanks for all the info. xx

its not until you have one that things become clear Netty, thank you so much for that great post, it will be very helpful to newbies, and I especially appreciate the bit I've quoted - there's no substitute for "getting started" so you know what you're dealing with. Well done Netty! scylla

And your right about the new atties as there is nothing more horrible than the taste of primer. Ken.

When an attie is brand new, it has horrible primer liquid in it. This needs to be gotten rid of before using the attie. Best way to get rid of the liquid I find is to: 1/ Blow through the end which hold the cart & the primer should drip out through the end that connects to the battery. Continue to do this until pretty much all the liquid has stopped dripping out. * it's advisable to do this over some kitchen paper & also intermittently wipe the attie during this process. 2/ Connect attie to battery and (if you have a manual battery), press the button for a few seconds at a time. You will see the element deap inside the attie glow. *Don't over do it as you will burn out the attie & break it. 3/ Drip a couple of drops of liquid on the wick of the attie, fill cart in the usual way & then connect the cart to the attie. Then puff on the attie a few times as if you are lighting a pipe. Remember, with a manual battery you need to press the button on and off whilst doing this. Hopefully, this will rid your attie of all the primer and you should be able to vape without a problem. At the end of the day, or when you do not intend to use your e-cig till the next day. Blow through the attie to remove old juice & leave it to rest upright on some kitchen paper. *Always, if possible alternate atties so that one dosen't get over used. Hope that helps someone

Excellent post Hissie :-D But still can't agree with blowing from the cartridge end. IMHO, all that does is send the juice/primer to the electrical connections & that's the last thing you want to do. For the best way to blow out an atomiser, check out about 6.40 mins on this vid of Igetcha's www.youtube.com/profile?user=igetcha69#p/u/117/Kvvcano05x8

I know disagree on attie blowing Chrissie however, I find it the best way for me. The juice leaks through onto the connections anyway whilst vaping. When changing the battery, I always wipe the battery connection and the screw end of the attie to get rid of the juice. When you blow through the battery end, I don't think you get rid of the juice as efficently as when I blow them via the end which the cart goes in. Anyway, horses for courses
