Good evening!! I've just binned about six/seven non-responsive atomisers, all in different states of 'how can it be gone?' and 'i only opened it xx days ago?'.. Have read reports about folk trying to revive them with cola, boiling water etc. Well boiling water didn't make any difference and I was out of cola so I can't say.. BUT now I just started with a new one and it's fine... beepxxx

Only thing I'd say contra that, Beepsie, is that IF you have a safe place to put them where you will find them again, it's worth putting them aside for a few days/weeks cos sometimes they revive themselves with no help from anyone scylla

Just my thoughts of course and would love someone to come up with a different reason as a reason there has to be. Beeper, thats a lot of attys letting you down I must be doing something right or just lucky but I have been using a Titan atty that I got in the TECC sale for over a month now and its going as good now as day 1. I never clean my atties just simply blow them out at night and leave them to dry. There has to be a simple answer though other than quality control that I hear mentioned from time to time. Ken. Just an after thought. Maybe it is something to do with quality control as in my opinion the Titan 510 atties are far superior to the cheaper ones that I bought from another supplier. That still would not explain why some come back to life again !!! I got it a miracle lol

Ken, my longest lasting atty ever was a TW LR Titan one, wasn't in the sale tho, it was the first LR i tried... Lasted nearly 2 months, it's still going, actually, just more like a normal atty now

Kenny, I agree with you about the Titan 510s, they seem to give a better hit and last longer than any others I've tried. I've been pretty lucky with most of my atomizers, with the possible exception of the 901 SDII specific ones that don't seem to wick properly with any cartridges. I do blow my atties through from time to time and when not in use, leave them business side down on some kitchen paper overnight. Fox

Well foxy n Lilac sounds like a good ad for TW and their Titan atty then. I do think where atties are concerned some are def better than others and paying that little bit more reaps rewards. I also think that there is a learning curve though in looking after them as in wet is curable by blowing them out and dry is bad news as they will pop ( RIP ) so a wet cart is the safest option. I think another point worth remembering for newbies is not to twist the cart when wanting to refill as you can destroy an atties element but to get in to the habit of pulling it straight out which takes a while becoming a habit as it is a natural reaction to twist and turn. Ken.

Stoopid question :-[ but what exactly is blowing out? Does it just mean blowing through the battery end??? I smiled at beeper's post because I'm normally ruthless about getting rid of things that don't seem to perform as well as they did (watch out OH!) but I can hardly bear to let my old atties go. I've got a little collection I keep because I mutter "how can it be gone? it can't be gone" and put it aside just in case. Another question - do new batteries need a bit of breaking in like new atties? I've recently changed mine and was disappointed in them at first, I thought they were duff, but they seem better now after a couple of recharges.

Yep blowing out an atty is best done from the battery end. All you need to do is give 5 or 6 sharp blows into the atty with a piece of kitchen roll beneath it to remove any excess juice or gunk which sometimes gathers. I normally do this last thing at night and I would set the atty cart side down on the piece of kitchen roll when I have finished. I think it keeps the atty in good shape and it lasts longer. If you get a bubbling sound from the atty it usually means there is too much juice in it and it will not perform well. This is the only other time I would blow it out. Regarding the batteries they should work well from day one as long as you keep them in the charger until the green light comes on. Some suppliers say that you should charge the battery for longer on the first charge but I don't think that this is necessary. Hope this helps. Ken. Just an after thought. When you are blowing out your atty make sure your lips surround the complete screw end including the little air holes.

Hi there! hope you're all very well and thanks to you all here who kindly give up your time to share experience and wisdom..It is appreciated I binned those comatose atomisers as they were staring at me blankly and I thought to myself, enough!. With hindsight I should have perhaps looked after them better in the first place but well, you live and learn at your own pace don't you?.. I am liberated from the iffy atties and will start anew and keep notes too. Interesting tho' to read your comments as so far I've only ever used 901 atomisers. I bought a SD converter kit and am now on day three of using a 510 atomiser for the very first time. It feels stronger in power than the 901 (is this correct?) I am liking it! beepxxxx

I'm normally ruthless about getting rid of things that don't seem to perform as well as they did (watch out OH!) ROFL Inn Beeper, the 510's do tend to burn hotter than the 901's. So can give more throat hit, but you will lose flavour.

Hi! well you have to try these things for yourself no? At present am alternating between the 901 and 510 atomisers and noting their differences- I like the 510 cos I seem to have run out of suck with my SD/901 (no sniggering now) and felt like a Goldfish, but yes Chrissie, have noted the taste is v much diminished with the 510's. beepxxxx PS awaiting the new 'in between' atomiser the 715??!
