Met another vaper tonight at my AA meeting, first person away from forums etc that I've actually seen vaping, he was on cig-a-likes, I assumed he was a new vaper but he's been using them for almost a year, I was just using a clearomiser on my Riva and he seemed very interested, said he'd looked online but didn't know where to buy from and wanted a walk in shop but didn't think there were any.. Told him there was a shop by (a company that shall not be named) in Horwich, but he was better off going to Heywood. He seemed like he would do but it got me thinking...he's better than me for staying on nicolites for a year I managed 48 hours! I was impressed but also kinda sad for him...

Impressed at his staying power, but sad for all the money he's wasted and the flavours he's missed out on. I hope he takes your advice!

I know what you mean Ellen, when there are so many better things he could be using, to give him a much improved, enjoyable vaping experience.
But I guess the gear we all use and recommend, isn't for everyone . . . though he deserves an award for staying with Nicolites for a year!
Hopefully, seeing you wll spark his interest into trying something better . . . I think there are a number of people who are wary of buying from the internet and would be much happier/reassured buying from a B&M shop.

I know someone, who knows someone, who's done exactly the same thing. And the person I know (my BIL) now won't even try e-cigs, because he thinks the other guy knows what he is doing and he (my BIL) doesn't like the cig a likes. AAHHHHH, makes me want to run in circles and scream # #

Now that is a shame Womble, although I do wonder if it's an ' excuse ' so many smokers have tried & failed in attempts to give up smoking using regular NRT products.
So it's maybe easier to resist trying switching to ecigs with an excuse, than set themselves up for another disappointment.
Though, he has you as a shining example . . . .

I purposely refused to find out what e-cigs were about or to research them when I was steadfast about wanting to carry on smoking. When you're in the grip of an addiction sometimes you just don't want to know alternatives

I use the Innokin auto battery rated at 180mAh, you need at least 3 a day! However, coupled with a Boge 510 / Innokin Cartomizer, or the i3 CE2 Clearomizer, it really is good. Yes it is separates made to make a cig-a-like, but it is still a cig-a-like, you can even put a Vision Clero V3 on it, it looks really silly, but works I think the 'branded' cig-a-likes aren't the best, especially with their pre-filled carto's. Never used one so I can't really comment However, like with bespoke computers or Hi-Fi systems, buying the individual components separately can give something of great value and performance, with customisation for your own individual taste. Provari - Penelope - Lavatube - Vivi-Nova. It is a starting point cig-a-likes - and for some the only way, because they don't want to or can't spend all their time on e-cig forums and spending oodles of pennies on custom bespoke juices, or drooling over a twisting battery or the latest Provari. They can't deal with leaks, or drips etc. It is a safer bet and a safer option and the easy option, of course we all know they're missing out! We all know it is far better this way, if a little more time consuming and wallet emptying, I wouldn't swap it for the world, and glad I didn't stick with 10motives. For some, they're going do just that.

Not really, he looks at me as though I am a particularly interesting specimen that does something different Ho Hum, that's life I suppose

My workmate has been on Nicolites since last November. she has no interest in using anything I do. i've given her juice samples etc, but our way is just not for her! The main thing is, she isn't smoking

I still use a ciggy like (Innokin) when I'm out. I even took it to Vapefest last year and they all laughed at me :-[ So, it will be going again this year as well

I bought my hubby an eGo T from River to match my own. His verdict? He prefers my old cig looky likey and said he'll use that instead! Personally I don't mind. a) Hes making an effort to stop smoking and b) it gives me a spare eGo I don't think we should look down on, or feel sad etc at people who prefer to stick to the looky likey's- whatever works for them. Anything is better than staying on proper cigarettes.

I personally think that I'd be able to convert more people if I were using a tobaco flavour cig-a-like! People are curious about my set up but you can see their minds totally switch of to it all when they realise I'm vaping something like sticky toffee pudding! Most people just think I'm weird
