Yes Sir! I'm supposed to be getting ready for work really, not sat here discussing wire and wick . . . which I'd rather do. Sticky quickly done, if anyone else has alternative sources, such as for ready made coils, could you be kind enough to PM with them and I''ll add them to the sticky . . . thank you muchly.

This is maybe going to sound really dumb, but I need to be sure so I'm going to ask..... The 0.16 nickel chrome is the resistance wire? And the 0.2 nickel is the no resistance wire? That thread we had about this got really confusing, I remember checking when with you guys that the wire I bought was right, but this has confused me again...sorry

I seem to remember double checking at the time, it's just that Blakey says above that the 0.2 nic chrome is the resistance wire, I have 0.16 for the resistance, scott uses that in his video so I know that is resitance wire, but I'm using 0.2 nickel wire as no resistance and just wanted to check if that is in fact no resistance, If that makes any sense? Lol

Sorry Ellen, I'm confused so don't pay attention to me, only answering if your desperate and itching. but if your using 16, then I too would suggest that was resistance wire. And 0.2 is non resistant.
Hopefully someone else would confirm who knows there eggs! Good luck

With regards to blakeys comment, I assumed ni chrome and soft silver was the difference and not the sizes. And he says both 0.2?

You can use either 0.16 or 0.20 Nichrome resistance wire to link with the NR wire. The difference is that you use a bit more of the 0.2 for the same resistance, so you can get more coils round your wick. Roughly speaking, for a 2ohm coil you need 4cm of the 0.16 or 6cm of the 0.20. Don't forget to add a bit (about 1cm) to allow for the twist with the NR wire.

I think that a key thing to remember is this:
Nickel Chrome wire has a high resistance - and is used for coils
Nickel wire (note the lack of chrome here) is the No Resistance (NR) wire as it's resistance value is so low it's negligible.
Don't get the two mixed up. If you want to be super-sure, then get yourself some silver 0.2mm wire for your NR purposes.
