Welcome to the club Macca. Count yourself lucky you gents, that you don't have the 'orrible 'ormones as well to contend with.

Macca, what I was trying to say in my previous post was that changing the like button to a thanks button, might actually stop people saying thank you as they may just click on the thanks button instead

We need several more buttons, for when 'like' just doesn't express our feelings about a post. What we need, besides 'like', is 'love', 'tolerate', 'dislike', 'loathe' and last but not least 'what planet are you from?'. That should do it, nicely.

Absolutely..
I really don't like the like button..I know I am better off without it, so I found a solution..It really does not matter to me whether it is changed or not..

IF the like button is used on here the same way it is on Facebook I see it as acknowledging (sp) that you agree with someone or appreciate what has been said or that you agree with it without the need for 20 posts saying the same thing in a totally different language. I also use it to say thanks if someone has helped me as well as saying thank yet it's a way to accentuate my appreciation. Lastly especially on Facebook if someone has said something witty or put up a funny photo which you want to acknowledge but there's nothing more to say than lol - it's more aesthetically pleasing to see 20 people have liked this as opposed to a long list taking up screen space of people posting lol! Mind you I had a friend once who would like everything even if you'd written something negative just to say she'd seen it. Posts like "I just lost a beloved pet". Jane doe likes this always seemed a bit daft!

You only have to see the Likes scattered around the tinternet to see that the Like is not used the way it is meant to be.. It bothered me so I did something about it and I recognize that it does not bother others..So nothing lost, nothing gained..
