Various ohm's.

Hi guy's, only second post...I think, but have been doing a lot of reading here and at other forums and I feel I am starting to get to grips with various things.

One thing though that still eludes me though, is why do we have varying ohm's on atty's, carto's etc....what is the purpose of this ?

An atomiser/cartomiser is basically a heating coil. Standard Ego batteries give out a regulated 3.7 volts.
The higher the resistance the lower the amount of power that can run through the coil, lower power = lower temperature that the coil runs at = less vapour. A standard Ego setup is a 3.7 volt Ego Battery coupled with a 2.4 ohm atomiser, this gives a good middle of the road vape. If you put in a lower resistance atomiser more power runs through the coil, it burns hotter BUT you use the battery quicker as you are allowing more power to run through the coil, also too low and you may strain the circuitry in the Ego by tring to draw too much power and you also may get the coil too hot and burn the juice giving a burnt taste. If you went to a higher resistance the coil may not get hot enough to give a satisfactory vape or vape too cool.

Also, just to queer the pitch different E-liquids will have different boiling points some may take more heating before burning and some less.

Thus by having different resistance atomisers you are able to tailor the vape output of your vaping device, but if you're on a standard 3.7 volt battery SR (standard resistance) about 2.4 ohms will probably work best.
