I personally think that there is so much confusion and bad publicity about Personal Vaping (I HATE using the word 'e-cig') that the big companies just don't know what to do. Technically it is legal; technically we have a right to vape wherever; but I do agree with posters above who say that unless we are careful there will be a blanket ban on vaping in most public places because the un- (or mis-)informed public will confuse the vapour we produce with tobacco smoke. I'm convince however that with time and the gradual increase of vapers in society we will begin to get an easier ride (no pun intended!). As the public see more and more people openly vaping (in the open air!) we will be seen as a safer alternative to smoking tobacco and the public will become more tolerant. My intention? - to sit on it for a few months, and not incite any bad press by stealth vaping where I need to, and not causing grief. If I was not able to smoke a fag before, I won't vape now - simples Andy

I really don't see the desperation by vapers to vape on public transport. We seem to have developed a sense of entitlement because we no longer smoke. Most bus journeys are anything from 5 to 30 mins long on average and we can debate the laws until we're blue in the face. But there's still a level of respect to be shown here. If I'm on a local bus (rare occurrence), and someone is wafting RY4 in my direction, I'm going to be pretty pissed off to say the least. If you can't wait until your journey is over, what did you do when you smoked and it was banned? Some vapers act like schoolboys trying to get away with something they've been told not to do. Get a grip and show some decorum, we don't have to vape in every public space just because we think we can.

Ryan Air don't actually allow vaping as such. They allow the use of their own smokeless ecigs which also happen to be vapourless and rank tasting as well as overpriced. So Ryanair find it acceptable and Greater Anglia don't, so why can't you accept it's their rules/policies and respect them as such? Or is this the sense of entitlement creeping in?

I think some people will happily vape on a packed train just so they can have a pretty solid argument. Fair play to them, however it will ruin things and I doubt those same people will be bovered. I occasionally vape on a platform that ain't busy or a cheeky half empty train carriage. But I think that m6 fiasco will be the excuse the operators need to justify banning it when the complaints come in. prodematley from smokers looking to jack it in. By the staircase on Platform 3, Charing Cross?
