I know you want to keep the forum as simple as poss Chrissie but it might make finding things easier if topics were separated a little more than at present but I'm happy to go with the flow. Fox

I'm having trouble getting my head around it. I'm still inclined to have a large forum where we're "all in it together", like on the eBay board. But I'm not new, I think that newbies (ish) are perhaps better qualified to demand change if they've recently found it difficult to find what they want.
But newbies tend not to read the information stickies, they like to ask questions and get personal attention, and that's quite OK.

OK Chrissie vote in.
Now I am not a forum expert but just a few thought that I have :
A seperate newbies board. The place to say hello and ask questions.
Best bargain board. The place to add links for any offers that members see.
The lighter side board. For jokes and humour, funny pics etc. Hissie has already started a thread on this so that could be the start point for posts.
The old dead threads board does not sound right to me. Think this may look better if it was named Archives.
As i said just some thoughts to give you food for thought Chrissie.

Thanks to everyone who as voted so far & all of your comments Lol, I really shouldn't have tried setting up the poll last night when I was so tired - made a bit of a mess clicking on PM all members instead of email all members & on top of that sent everyone a non working link to begin with :-[ Sorry about that Kenny, that's more or less how I first set up this forum (boards named differently though). But at the time, everyone wanted everything on the one board, so I changed it :- allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=34Off to change the old/dead thread name to "Archives" you are so right Kenny, it sounds so much better MM, sorry you have lost your long post - twice

Well Chrissie they are only suggestions but I do think the forum needs to come into the 21st century. If the main board is too cluttered which I think it is then in my opinion newbies won't spend the time. But a poll is on the go so the majority will decide. Ken. x

the forum needs to come into the 21st century. Don't I hate it when young men say things like that?! You remind me of the BBC when they're making excuses for ruining my fave progs, Kenny No hard feelings, though!!! scylla x
