Regarding the batteries, I got my two replacement ones from OKSmokey this morning and the instructions that came with them clearly state I must charge them for 8 hours initially. This is problematic as the charger light turns green at around the 3.5 to 4 hour mark so I just left them in situ for the remainder of the time. New batteries always take longer to charge and the times drop off with age. My original, more than five month old, Tornado batteries now take 1.5 hours to charge. I know very little about the inner workings of batteries but I have read that one shouldn't allow li-ion batteries to discharge completely, so I shall be topping mine up after a few hours use rather than waiting for them to die. the instructions that came with them clearly state I must charge them for 8 hours initially. Practically every e-cig I've owned which contained instructions said "charge 8 hours", but my conclusion from what I've read about e-cig batteries is that that's a loada rubbish. You just charge them until they indicate they are fully charged. So, I've always over-charged my batteries cos I leave them charging until I remember they're there. scylla

Foxy, from all the info I've come across (especially via Trog) as soon as the light on the chargers turn green, they stop charging.

(Moved from James's "bigger better" thread.) Originally posted @ 15.22hrJames, I'm reporting in re our Slim Jyms. I fear we may have a problem with the Bauway batteries. As you know, I'm too disorganised to keep an exact record of times - suffice to say that I've just had to discard a battery cos it's run down, but the other battery hasn't finished charging. They seem to take at least 5 hours to charge, and the one I've just been using hasn't lasted nearly that long. I'm OK because I've got the Garry Dibley and Screwdriver. How are yours performing? Sod's law they charge in an hour and last for 10 hours This is just a note to keep you informed, as soon as the battery is charged I will continue with it. JUST A THOUGHT - Would it be possible to get spares of the USB charging cable and sell them separately? That would help a little - because then we would be able to charge one on a PC USB socket and another on the mains charger. Obviously I'd still have to use a different model in my present situation, but it would get the second battery charging instead of having to wait for the first to finish. Garbled? Sowwy scylla x

This time I charged it on my netbook so that I would notice when it finished. But I charged one on mains a day or two ago (I already had an adapter for the europlug) and had to leave it on all night so I couldn't time it. The most handy thing would be if you could, eventually, get hold of spare USB charger-leads to plug into either a PC or the mains charger, so that 2 batteries could be charged at the same time. Say if we had 3-4 batteries in total we'd be fixed up without having to worry about how long they take to charge. Well, that's the theory, as long as the batteries have a reasonable vaping duration. scylla

Well would you believe it - the battery that I set to charge on my netbook at 7pm is fully charged now - green light - that's two and a quarter hours max cos I've been in the kitchen.
I wouldn't do anything special yet, James dwolling - let's monitor how they go.
If it turns out that they don't perform adequately over a period of time, maybe you would even decide to stock a different mod, who knows?

I have two usb chargers and two mains adapters; I've charged both new ECO (same model as the Slim Jym) batteries together, one took 7 hours and the other 5 hours - go figure!! I won't use the usb in my pc or lappy as I'm afraid of burning out the ports - I'm of a nervous disposition. Fox
