Scylla's SLIM JYM received 20 Sept 10 The first battery took 1hr30m (+/-) to charge. In the meantime I vaped on the second straight from the box until No1 was charged, No2 took about 2hr30m. It supplies a full, smooth vape with James's blue foam well drenched in juice. It's very strange holding a comparatively small unit and one with the button placement on the side at the atty end. I keep my baby finger over the nose end as if it were a Screwdriver The button takes a very deliberate press to activate it, it would be most unlikely to be activated accidentally. Compared to the good old Mini starter kits you get a lot for your money in the Slim Jym - the hardware is of a higher quality for one thing, then there's 15ml of juice - a James Special of course. One kit gives you everything you need, because although, as mentioned elsewhere, there's no UK adapter there is a PC USB charger so you're ready for anything I would therefore recommend it to newbies, as long as they don't insist on a cigarette replica. I have adapted Jaki's lanyard by threading a sorta cable-tie thru the hole end (hole was made for SD button) Thank you James, scylla

Good review, Scylla, i actually prefer it to my Tornado, as the vape almost seems as good as if using a LR atty....i wasn't going to take it to work last night, with it being a bit longer than the Tornado i didn't want it showing in my pocket, but in the end i had to, i just couldn't bear to be parted from it Did you charge from the usb, or use an adapter Scylla? , the battery takes rather longer to charge than the Tornegoriva, but seems to last longer as well, perhaps as it charges more slowly, didn't Trog say that was better for a battery?

I charged it from the USB on my netbook. Regarding "slow charging being better", Chrissie reckons (and I won't disagree cos I'm too disorganised to record either charging time or battery longevity) that the slow Nano charger is better for SD batteries than faster ones. I won't be vaping my Slim Jym consistently enough* to assess battery life, so if you have timed it, Lilac, I will add it to my "review" (as you have kindly entitled it). *Cos I use GD-PT while surfing. scylla

The battery life of my ECO is equivalent to the Tornado and I prefer the shape (the ECO is from OKSmokey and the same as the Slim Jym). I am a little concerned about these batteries however, as my two that were purchased at the same time both failed this evening and are less than two weeks old. Hopefully I was just unlucky and they were from a single dodgy batch. I'm still using two Tornado batteries that are five months old and still going strong. Fox PS: I've managed to get one battery to take a charge but unfortunately the led is not working, neither is the switch. To deactivate the battery I have to remove the atty. Not good! Please note that my faulty batteries are NOT from James.

Please note that my faulty batteries are NOT from James. I imagine that OK Smokey's Eco and Paradise's Slim Jym are from the same stable, so... fingers crossed for Lilac, James and me scylla

I do hope you don't have problems with your batteries James as the 'Slim Jym' is a cracking device and, so far, I've not heard of problems from anyone else but moi - Murphy's Law! Fox

James, when is the new stock coming in? Someone on the board has asked for a recommendation for five newbie vapers!!!! I was going to cut and paste a link to the slim Jym to find them all gone! Brilliant, but more stock obviously needed.
