O-oh, there's been a death in the SJ family Re the "other" battery from the one I referred to above (which is now charging) - I had been using it for a shortish while, took a puff and there was a sorta pop and the atty got red hot. Unscrewed it PDQ with a cloth. That was an LR901 with adapter. Changed to a James 510 atty, just dead. I notice that when I unscrew an atty from the battery the red light flashes occasionally during the procedure. That's definitely without touching the button. Am OK with my Garry Dibley, no panic. And hopefully the other SJ battery will be usable when it's charged. Does this tally with Foxy's experience with the ECO? scylla

Just confirmed with Foxy that it is the same thing that happened with her ECO.
James, do you have any recourse with the seller? It could be that the model is basically flawed?
It would be dreadful if you have to keep dishing out replacement batteries.
Just thinking and worrying...

Scylla; the problem you describe is exactly the same as happened with one of my two original ECO batteries, the other was just dead when I took it out to use it; they were both less than 14 days old. I didn't notice the light flashing on either when the atties were removed/screwed in but one odd thing that did happen was the light flashed at least once during the charging process on one of the batteries. I only noticed this happening because the charger was on the living room floor in front of me when I was using the laptop so it might have been a regular occurrence.

The button stick on one of my early regular 510 batteries and I chucked it into the garden LOL! I figured I could blow up a few snails! Fox

Update on my Slim Jym: Since the day before yesterday, both of the 510 atties that came with the kit are in a coma from which I hope they will recover, with rest - it happens with 901 atties so I'm hoping it will with these too. So, out of the kit, just the one battery remains alive I have an adapter* and 901 atties I can use, no worries. *Yes, Chrissie, I've got adapters for both directions and I've put a note in a storage baggy so I know what they are scylla

Since the day before yesterday, both of the 510 atties that came with the kit are in a coma from which I hope they will recover I've been vaping with my surviving Slim Jym battery this evening and it's a very nice vape with a new Eastmall LR901 atty and your blue foam. Both of the 510s that came with the kit are still dead - BUT James, did you see the thread "Dead atties" in Our Main Board? It just goes to show that all atties come out of a lucky or unlucky dip and your 510s are no worse than any others - if they'd come in a pack of 5 maybe the other 3 would have been glorious performers Who'd be an e-cig retailer? scylla

Replacement SJ battery received a few minutes ago, tested with a brand new carto, put on charge @ 12.53pm. I haven't been using the other one much at all because if I wore it out there'd be nothing to go with the new one. Is there any news on the black super batteries? Thank you very much James! scylla

Perps - I heard that James has now changed his colour scheme re: his choice his for frocks. It came about, I think, prior to his Las Vegas trip where we all suggested that he tried something different. Think he might be having a Picasso blue-phase at the moment, but no doubt he'll update us when the piccies have been taken and he can upload. (on thw wrong reply screen, so blowing kisses at James. xx)
