Just before fall I found this one lovely lady that we started calling "Nelli".. Checked all her limbs and checked that she had a nice fat deposit.. No scratches/bleeding anywhere. And gave a big bowl of fat worms and stuff to get the extra she needed for the winter.. This pose is really rare for Wild ones...

I'd love to know the full story of the hedgehog pet, Yakousei Beeratz, that's a very nice face you got there Call me unobservant, but I've always thought you were a fella Well we got the littlefella back in march 2009 when he was few months old (born 17th of january) from an licensed breeder here in Finland. Here's a link that has some images of him & the housing I made. When we traveled home from the breeder (2hours trip) the little fella (ofc his first trip ever) s**tted all over his triphousing and we had to give him a nice welcome bath at home. In the beginning he made these foamballs all over himself when he tasted something new (like my sockjuices *ewwwww*). He does em still, but rarely. I used to breed Super Worms myself, but the better half of me didn't quite like the beetlestage.. So now I only breed the mealworms. Also we feed him snails, crickets etc.. Few things he likes A LOT ; Those babyfood jar's (carrot flavor) and cottage cheese (lactose-free).. Do-Note : Even if people keep feeding wild hedgehog's with all the s**t they can find it doesn't mean it's good for them.. As hedgehogs (wild and pet) are 1. lactose intolerance 2. celiac's.. Also citric products are not recommended (there is a big list of what's not good for the pet hedgehog's and many of those is also appliable to the wild ones). Back to the story At the age of 3 (so not too long a go) we noticed that he started to eat more carefully and slow(ish).. So we took him to a specialist for small animals.. And he lost all but one of his teeth. There had been some tartar? that had decayed parts of his jawbone that held the teeth together. Even with all the stuff we fed him, that were supposed to minimize the chances of that happening. But on the bright note, after the operation he started to eat normally again How he lives? Well he has this 3floor, 6room shelf I made with ramps going up and down (check the photolink). He wakes up at around 8PM to eat (so that's the time we HAVE to give him food or he's all grumpy ). Then he usually does few laps on the wheel I've made from 100l bucket, takes a huge arse dumb in the litterbox and goes back to "sleep".. after 30-60min we take him out just to lie on our chest and explore the room (if he feel's like it). So that's about it.. Ask away if you want to know more E: Oh and just guess how many times people have thought that I'm a girl (avatar and in RL too -.- )
