That figure of 30,000 cigs avoided is a real eye opener though It is, isn't it? I've got a spreadsheet keeping track of my Vape spend and a few other related things. I've not smoked 33,100 cigarettes in a little over 3 years. |

On the subject of shaking and/or mixing Nic Base.
Many months ago I was reading a redit conversation about Nicotine not being fully mixed in the base when received by some customers. This conversation involved US suppliers and customers.
There was lots of angst and some suppliers ultimately recalled product back for testing. It transpired that some saw "hot pockets" of high concentration nic within VG based base bottles - the nicotine had not been evenly distributed through the base VG. In short - it hadn't been properly mixed.
The end result, of course, was that DIY mixers were getting inconsistent strength vaping brews.
As I recall, there was no PG based product where such "hot pockets" were observed. It was theorised that the thicker gluggier VG base slowed down the rate of mixing that would naturally occur within the bottle during shipping and delivery.
The upshot was that all involved strongly suggested a thorough shaking/mixing of any bottles of Nic Base before decanting or use.
I am not an expert in such things - but I always mix up my product bottles before decanting or use. It does seem to make sense to me to ensure even distribution of nicotine. I've no idea how such mixing may affect long term shelf life of nic base.
