Thanks Netty- I am carp with social network sites! :-[ But certainly, the more the merrier. I spent some years transcribing for the courts, and on occasion transcribed cases brought by the RSPCA. I would finish up in tears hearing the evidence given regarding what had happened to the animals - everything from dogs, cats, sheep etc. But what always ticked me off was hearing the sentence handed down at the end! They would barely cause a dent in the life of the abuser. It really disgusted me that our country and judicial system doesn't make animal abuse so unacceptable that real deterrent sentences are handed down. A smack on the wrist does little to inhibit them. > > > Whilst I appreciate that we are safe from rabies in this country, due to legislation - our quarantine laws are so archaic. My two brought back from Thailand had to spend 6 months living in a space 8' x 20'. And that was generous. The pens of the quarantine station near Heathrow are 5 x 12!!!!! They are not allowed out of that space for a walk, a run or anything else. Really heart-breaking. But - and this is how stupid the law is - the outide pens are open to any wildlife that may visit their pen: rats, mice, foxes whatever. So, if the animal did have rabies (and in 80 years, no animal imported has even been found to have it) then the mice, rats, 'whatever' visiting would head off into freedom with the virus! Meanwhile, quarantined animal is stuck there - not even allowed to have a romp in a larger area. > > >

Annie - the elephant - was taken to Longleat in March (I think it was.) I went there in April - my birthday present from my offspring. They organised a private safari for me, and our guide was one of the rangers whom we see on Animal Safari (with Ben wotsisname). I asked him about Annie as we were driving around. He pointed out where she was housed, but said that the staff were very much operating with Annie's needs as a priority, thus she went outside when SHE wanted to. But, bless her, she was so used to being chained, or incarcerated, it was taking her some time to appreciate that she was now 'free' to roam outside - to enjoy the sunshine, to mud-bath etc. It was awful to hear how she had been treated, as well as then hearing how difficult it was for her to now adjust to true care and freedom.

As this is a very current topic being debated in Parliament at the present time, I have submitted my vote via a petition which was begun by the Independent Newspaper. I am not going to comment futher, other than to say that I feel quite distressed (if not sickened) at 'guessing' what 3 tigers went through in order for them to sit in a row on a circus stand, on their bums, with front paws up in the air. How manageable would that be with one domestic cat, let alone 3 wild cats? ? > > > > > > > Sorry for my rant, but if anyone feels the same - here is the petition. Over to you as to whether you agree and wish to sign. www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/circusanimalsHugs xx

Bluemagnum - no, haven't got those. Good to know about though. I confess, I don't understand the whole battery thing at all - which is why I just relied on Cam to suggest what was best. But will go and explore the CR2s. Are those rechargeable?

Hi Aldo - I bought two of the ones that Cam recommended: 17690. Have to say, it has now broken in nicely and performing well. I think in part the attie also required a bit of breaking in too. Lee's suggestion for opening out the spring did the trick. Happy bunny now. How are you getting on with yours?

Agree Chrissie, that will be good. However - first impressions, bit unsure. Having got it going with a 901 attie, and comparing it to a Riva/Tornado battery with a 510 attie (same juice) - I am getting a more powerful throat hit (more satisfying) than I am getting from the GG. It is what I would call smooth - but limited on the draw/inhale front by comparison. Have to confess that my only 901 fitting thingy has been via the Screwdriver, which I have never really got on with -same issue i.e. weaker throat hit. Have to chug several times to get a good vape. Now another 901 device, and similar findings. I am getting loads of vapour out of the GG now, but it isn't hitting the spot in the same way as my 510 atties/gizmos. Would be interested to know what others think or have found.

Not a happy bunny. GGTB arrived, along with two 17670 batteries and a charger. Great, except - no instructions! 'Ne'er mind' says I - (ever optimistic ) "I can figure this out. " Inserted batteries to charge them - this morning, light is green, okay - off and running. Got out a new 901 atttie, tested it on my screwdriver - fired up, great, so that was established as okay. Then inserted battery - but not sure which way around. Found a You Tube video which showed negative end went in first - i.e. against the spring. After a while, appreciated that the button had a lock on it which could be released for pressing to operate. (Very pleased with myself at this stage. ) Screwed in attie, drip tip on, few drops in and voila - went to puff, pressed button ----------- zilch, no sound, nothing. Went back, tried again with battery other way up - same thing. Took to bits again, put battery back negative end in, rescrewed attie, zilch. Retested attie on Screwdriver - no probs. Peed off, demoralised, cheesed off, frustrated..... what am I doing wrong?

James, hi hun. Am hoping that my order got through to you. I placed it on Sunday (I think it was). But, my basket still contained the items from my last order, so I had to delete them and start again. So, am just wondering whether it went off to you at all? I went through to the Paypal screen to pay, and I am pretty sure that it went through okay. Maybe it's floating around cyber-space? Hope you and Audrey are good - and.......... and.... you are off galavanting AGAIN! P.S. James, I have just checked my Paypal and it doesn't seem to have gone. Can you take a look at your end, please. I shall try again now - so hope that at least one gets through! But also, do let me know if you get it twice!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>
