The photo was taken after I finished coiling and just before I removed the needle to test fire..The wicks are wet because I had filled it with juice to test that I could fill it with the wicks in place and it was wicking at the time..
You can wet the wicks and make the coil..You will get juice on your hands but prevents the wicks from fraying..

Because the photo showed what I used to support the wick to make the coil..
You should remove it before you fire..

Just lower the voltage to 3.5 and start from there..Increase it in 0.1 v and try till you find the right voltage for the juice/wick combo..
2 x 2mm wicks is fine..

If anyone is going to try this use a fully mechanical mod..
It is likely it will not to work in mods with electronic circuitry and may even end up destroying ego type batteries..

I can see what you are saying..I need to look into the self discharge rates of Li-Ion in addition to quiescent current..It may be higher than what I thought it was.
The reason I said it won't last a year and 2 months (10,000 hours) is because we use large amounts of Li-Ion cells in our trains and the recommendation from SAFT is to top them up to 40% charge every 3 months if they are in storage..
Will speak to someone from work who has forgotten more about batteries than what many people know about them.

Wiring faults are very hard to diagnose unfortunately.. If it is the ignition fuse that's blown and it is diesel one possible cause is one of your glow plugs ishas a direct short..For a quick and easy check ask whoever is helping you to check the glow plugs. But it could be a multitude of reasons and it's very hard to diagnose in a forum. You must have mobile mechanics in your area..I would just ring around or look up yellow pages and get a qualified bloke in. Also look in : www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk/You may find local garages who are willing to pick your car up and drop it back off..

A 40 amp fuse blowing indicates a major short somewhere..
Better to get it diagnosed by a professional with the right equipment.

Check if the O ring has slipped out from it's position from the base of the innards section..Sometimes the O ring slips out when removing the base or post a photo of the removed innards from the CE5 that is leaking..
