That's the kind of stuff. Looks wholesale only, Probably OK if you want 100 meters. Also noticed their smallest size is a bit big: Bore from 4 to 45 mm I wonder where VH get theirs from ?

I'm so weak. I wanted to try these tubes, so to make it worthwhile, I ordered a Maximus as well That's the Dave I know. Selected the 99p shipping option myself, as despite my profligate spending ways, £2.70 on postage was a bit steep for such diddy items. Looks like it Skwoody . . . I wondered about a round oil lamp wick? Lamp wick are cotton, they will burn and that other stuff is Kevlar. You don't want that. Silica only.

I guess I'm lucky then. The Ming drip tip I got with my Maximus fits perfectly.

Oops Perp, see what happens when you sell all your stuff on classies lol Bugga eh Ellen. That'll learn me. Think I'd still have a job getting a mesh down inside the Kanger wick tube Sej, very narrow it is . . . being stretched over the end of a metal crochet hook right now. The things we do for vaping. Yes, I think they could be "stretched" and widened a little if needed.

I think the Maximus wick as supplied is wound quite wide.
The wick I used it on was for a DiD Mini. That is rolled to be 2mm

I have no cotton mesh in any carto I have bought. Its always a silica mesh tube.
Test. Put a lighter to it. If it burns away it's cotton. If it first goes black and then glows red, it's a silica tube.
When it's cooled squish it with your fingers. All the black comes off and you are back where you started.

There should be a silica tube that runs down the centre of the carto....so I'm not quite sure what it is you are pulling apart, tbh.

Picture, the silica tube from a carto on to a 2mm SS wick and mounted coil:- Technically, this also removes the need to oxidise the coil as well. The only reason to oxidise it was to make in non-conductive, but the silica tube now takes care of that issue. (But you might want to still burn off any manufacturing residues).

An update on external wick tube. Most of you will probably already have a good supply of it, but just don't realise it.
The inner silica tube from a dead carto !
A 2mm SS wick fits inside the tube perfectly and you can trim it off to where you want it.
(Credit where it's due.. actually first proposed by macca in another place whilst I was thinking about it).

i think any straight mesh wick can have an inner of silca/fibreglass wick (i leave silica tails on mine to aid wicking) unsure of bent ss wicks as i havent done any of them True, but the question was about external tube wick, not internal string wick.

Well, at least VH gennys are cheap to replace And I've not seen the silica tube for sale anywhere else. I've asked Callum if he's going to start stocking it.
