Hiya,
I'm aware that Callum has started shipping the SS MAXIMUS PRO to those that have ordered. I received mine today.
The fact it came ready to use was a great bonus as I had no time before work to coil anything.
So, filled it with Halo Freedom Juice, popped the screw back in, lined up the air holes and went to work.
WOW, I am very impressed by the performance of this little beauty, full flavour first time with no metallic or wick tastes whatsoever, amazing throat hit (although Halo juices rock in that department). It just works, not alot more I can say, no leaks as yet, 1.7 ohms off the bat and at 4.4 volts its doing the job.
Im gonna be brutally honest and say its not got the best finish out there, looks are a little crude but im sure a couple of minutes on my polishing machine will sort that out. Havent had to take any shortcuts with ways to get air to the system, have put all screws in and just used the airhole, im confident it doesnt need making any bigger and leaving the filler screw out are things ive yet to discover.
Well done Callum on providing us with a good priced, very well performing mod.
/bravo

Must admit that I have become sceptical of any new products especial in the E-cig world.
Well I had a nice surprise today with the new Maximus Pro, for me it worked extremely well.
Loads of vapour, no metallic taste, no leaks even when laid flat, it just worked straight away without any problems.
If Callum gets some more stock in, I will be buying another one for sure.

Do you still need to oxidise the mesh if it has the material around it?

Does it look like the heat resistant wicking tube found wrapped around the coils in cartomisers?

The mesh provided is already oxidised, im leaning towards the cloth like material is put there to prevent shorts, be nice to buy that for my other genesis type mods

Must be to aid wicking..I saw in a review on UKV that it is supplied with a couple of wicking tubes..
It sorta loses the point of inhaling the pure flavour straight from a SS wick and coil but it may be better..It is fiddly to get SS mesh to wick properly....Can't tell till I 've tried but you shouldn't need to oxidise the wick if wrapping the coil over that if you are going to replace the wick..

Mine arrived today and it is excellent (and this from someone who has two Cobras).
I like the silica tube idea on the SS wick. No more shorts from coil to wick and it holds a bit extra juice in the wick.
But it does not half drink the juice !
Yes, OK, finish is not brilliant, but could be polished up. And I am a bit concerned with the evidence of stressing on the poly tube where it fits. I can see tiny stress fractures developing. Best to keep an eye on that.

Did you gents who have received yours, think that the spare ready wires, look as if they're res and non res spliced together?

I cant see the point in having a ss mesh wick, and wrapping it in silica.
Will it not wick just the same with just silica?
