Nope, I'm afraid. At least not for me. I was only a casual smoker before getting into vaping. Odd couple of fags while drinking. My taste buds were just fine. I think this is all about the vaping for me. Not that I'll stop

So what exactly is so great about the twist...I mean, compared to the Riva 1100?
And what's the shipping like, if you found out?
Cheers.

Hey. It's happened to me today too! Major bummer. Also around the two week mark for me, or maybe a little more. I posted on the e-cigarette forum, but mainly all I got was, 'Drink loads of water,' which is pretty obvious and doesn't work.
Do you think it could be an allergy? Apart from the loss of taste, I feel fine - no congestion in sinus, not particularly phlegmy, throat's fine.
Worse thing is, I just got a bunch of new juices in the post today. Argh!
Kruegarbait - you say it happened to you too...so, how long did it last and has it happened to you since?
I can still taste a little, but not enough to really enjoy my PV....it's like vaping through a handful of cotton wool.....is it like that for you too, Debb? And has anything improved in recent hours?
Kinda makes me worry about vaping...

My two pence worth - I would agree with Dream and say don't worry what people think....but of course there's the possibility of it getting nicked.....That's not such a problem for me, as I don't go out often, and in Cardiff you're more likely to be annoyed by drunken people in the streets lurching over and saying, 'Wassat, butt?' and then having a go on your lovely Riva and getting their kebab spit all over your mouth piece.
I went out to a pub in Pontypridd last week. I vaped the whole time I was in there. This was before I had my lovely Riva. I had a V2 (is that a super mini?). I was in the pub for a few good hours, and, as is the tendency when drinking, I was chain-vaping. And my batteries were running out fast and it was like the doomful ticking of a clock, and to add to this, two of my friends fell in love with some of my flavours and were nicking little vapes off me...normally, I would love this and encourage this, but the batteries were getting lower and lower (I had two). I even went up to the bar and asked if they had a PC or a laptop I could charge it up on, but this was Treforest.....
So i would take THIS into account when buying your ecig. You may only be a 10 a day smoker, and when you get your PV, you may only be a moderate vaper, but when you start getting those pints down you, I imagine this will change.
So my advice is: man up, buy a Riva with a decent battery (the Riva 1100 from vape escape is fab, recommended to me by Chrissie - thanks again) and maybe add some scratches and bird poo to your battery so it looks worthless. Maybe even buy a pink one so that repressed masculine type thieves will be discouraged.
Failing that, get yourself a super mini and buy extra batteries and a PPC, or whatever you call it.
And welcome!

Well I don't know about the cayenne pepper at this early stage - I'll keep trying it because either way it's good for your throat. But what I do know is, yup, nic mg has alot to do with it. Been on the 10mg juice all day and my throat feels fine. Oh, and of course over doing it is a factor, but I'm a newbie so I'm allowed.

I've been getting quite the dry irritated throat these last couple of days. Been vaping heavily for around 2 weeks. First on a v2, now on a Riva 1100. Generally use juices which are mainly PG with some VG.
Maybe I should try higher VG? But the thing is, my absolute fave flavours are Vermilion River, and these are high PG...
This doesn't have anything to do with coming off analogues - I'm one of those daft buggers who wasn't a proper smoker before getting into vaping. I was for 10 years, but then quit (Allen Carr) for a year, and the last 2 years I've mostly been a casual smoker who succumbs when drinking, which can be difficult when going on holiday, when I'm drinking and surrounded by smokers everyday...last year, I came back from Kos properly smoking full-time again, and I had to do the quitting process again (which I find relatively easy - I have the added incentive of working toward my upcoming karate black belt grading and CANNOT mess with my fitness).
Anyway, so I thought I'd try e-cigs, thinking I'd save them for drinking weekends and my 2 week holiday to Turkey coming up soon. Course, got the PV in the post, excitedly tried all the flavours like a right dickhead and bham! Hooked.
Anyway. I don't mind. It hasn't messed with my lungs and karate and I just enjoy it so darn much....but, got this dry tickly throat and this morning had a coughing fit.
Mind you, I did realise this morning that I'd been smoking a 24mg RV maplewood, when normally I use a 10-12mg juice....
Fact is, no matter how lovely and safer than analogues e-cigs are, they're still going to mess with your throat...it's a constant dry heat, and though the FDA have approved the ingredients for consumption, they haven't approved them for relentless inhalation (and probs never will, until they find a way for the e-cig to fill their purses). But irritant compared to carcinogen is like a stubbed toe compared to amputation.
So, what I've learnt is: lower mg. Also, I need to work on keeping my throat wet, and plain old water isn't cutting it. I've had a google and there's alot of sites saying gargling with cayenne pepper is great for the throat...so, I'm going to give that a try, have a gargle cup next to my PC, keep at it every hour or so, and I'll update anyone, just in case you're going through similar and are interested.
Any other tips for a wet throat?
I don't want to give up my e-cig. God himself couldn't pry the damn thing from my hand.
Cheers.

The other day I was at work (care home) and one of the rezzies, who we ration out 7 fags a day to, asked me for one. But there were no lighters or matches so I had to light it off the stove...in my mouth. Didn't even inhale, but that teensiest weensiest bit of smoke in my face and mouth made me pull an eurgh face and I felt for the first time EVER that I would not smoke an actual stinker EVER again. Very chuffed with that, and glad to hear about the rest of you pulling your respective eurgh faces at the filthy effing things.

Well it's bloody lovely. That usual creamy sweet smokey VR taste with a bit of Jack Daniels thrown in.

Hi. I'm interested in buying an e-pipe. Mostly for stupid reasons. Think it'd make me look rather fetching (even though I'd mostly be using it sat in front of my PC in my toothpaste stained PJs). Have money to burn too, I guess, and let's face it - addicted to trying out new things...
So anyone here tried one/has one? Can you recommend a model/kit at a reasonable price?
Cheers.

No, sorry to disappoint - nothing to do with Michael Bouble. Boobley is one of my dog's silly boll*cks middle names (full name: Bimbo Booblay Shipoopi Steve Jeans lol).
I think I've had enough with trying the RY4s. What about the 555s? Anyone know any good ones? I've tried the liberty flights one - it's OK, but a little weak with a vague smelly sock undercurrent.
I think VR has ruined my taste buds - they're so good, everything else is rubbish afterwards.
I guess cigar flavours are a good way for me to go too. Toffee cigars etc..
It's just as well I've done all this overtime recently - extra money for spaffing on e-cig stuff. Why not?

Another reason to stay away from Bridgend...haha. Will look into that celtic bounty mind.
I have ordered those Vermillion River ones I wanted, and now emailing Grizwalds to ask why Black Cat and Red Dog aren't in their pick n mix and sampler section....don't they want my money?

OOh, thanks for the welcomes. I'm on the ecigwizard site now and they actually have the VR premium blend, which seems to be sold out everywhere else, and the vanilla blend, so I'll try those. Cherrywood is my fave and applewood and blend 7 is nice too (bourbon whisky, that last one). Maplewood is also good. Yes, Grizwald Black Cat I'll have a go at - they do a pick n mix so I'll try a few.
Sod it. I'm going to blow all my money on juice.
While I'm on the ecigwizard site, any juices on there you recommend? They have wizardsmix, decadent vapours, pink spot (already tried their coconut cream pie and big red - both lovely in moderation), and freedomsmoke usa. ..tried any of these?

Hi. I was directed to this site by Chrissie, who has been very helpful indeed. I posted a Q on ECF, and though it was quite helpful, most of the suggestions were by Americans for American e-liquids. So I'll post the same query here in the hope that some of you can help:
'Hi. My favourite kinds of e-juice flavours are tobacco with hints of caramel/chocolate/toffee/vanilla. My particular favourites are the Vermillion Rivers - Kentucky cherrywood or applewood or kentucky blend 7 (bourbon and creamy tobacco, lush).
Can anyone recommend any others? I like them a little sweet, but it would also be cool to have some which have more emphasis on the smokey tobacco element with the creamy sweet element being more subtle.
I understand RY4s are supposed to be like this, but I got one in the post today which is supposed to be Dekang, and it doesn't taste like much at all (though it's not horrible).
I don't want to mix my own.
So any recommendations?
Cheers.'
So far I've been pointed toward Grizwalds, so I'll give them a go....any other pointers? I may fork out the shipping costs for some Alien Vision juices (gorilla juice and that boba one, what ever it's called...) anyone had any experience with these? Ta.
