Well the last 2 days have been hellish. Ok, not exactly hellish, but bad enough for me to curse, scream and cry with sheer frustration. It all started yesterday morning when my Riva started acting up. Couldn't get a decent vape for love nor money. So I changed the attie - no joy. Tried a new cart - no joy. Tried a new attie, cart, AND battery - no joy. Then my juice order from James arrived! Yippee!!! I thought. I had run out of my fave chocolate from James so was chuffed to bits to find that the lovely James had given me 10mls instead of the 5ml I had ordered - Thank you James xxx Sooooooo, I opens me choccy juice, positions it over me cart to fill, and I gently squeeze the delectable juice in to my cart..........and the blerdy spout thingy shot off and juice went all over my table!!!!!!!! Nooooooooooo! I did manage to scoop a fair bit up and got it back into my bottle. I tried again.........and it flipp' happened again. I cried. Truely I did. Eventually managed to get some juice in to my cart, but it took me all day yesterday to get a decent vape. Then today all my Riva is giving me mouthfulls of juice! I have cleaned the battery, the atties, and the carts. But to no avail. Hubby and I have 3 Rivas each....his are super, 2 of mine are boogers - but i do suspect it is me. Anyway, 10 days now smoke free, so I am still chuffed to bits. That is my moan over.....for today at least. How is everyone else on this fine Wednesday evening?

Ken - we cross posted i think1 And thank you so much for those wise words. My dad is the most stubborn HUMAN I have ever met in my entire life. He is an ex Regimental Police Sergeant, and don't we know it!!! In his will, he has stated that he wants 20 cigs and a lighter to be buried with him. I rest my case.

Chrissie, 901 it is then!
Of course I am worried about him trying an e-cig - but I don't think I will be half as worried as I am with him chuffing away on an analogue.
He has the most awful cough at the moment, and he has a moustache that is a nicotine shade of grey........!
his doctor gave up on trying to quit the cigs years ago, and that flaming doctor also smokes for goodness sake!
I will get my dad the 901. and I will keep a very careful eye on him, and I will instruct me mother on how to use it.
I will also do as much research as i can.
xxxxxxxxxx

I do hope you could be right Scylla!
I want to buy him a 901, with 11-18mg e-juice and see how he goes with that.
For my father to even show the slightest interest in something other than a real cig is nothing short of amazing.
He phoned me earlier to ask me to choose one for him. I choked on me glass of Hardys Chardonnay I can tell ya!

I totally agree with you, Chrissie, about my dad staying away from nicotine altogether.
But I'm afraid that that is never going to happen.
He has smoked for 63 years, had 4 heart attacks in his 40's, his first stroke last year, and he has NEVER in his whole life ever even attempted to pack up smoking. And he never will.
He has cut down from 40 a day to 20 and refuses to cut down anymore. We have begged and pleaded but to no avail.
he says that after losing 3 stone in weight, and giving up alcohol, he is NO WAY going to pack up the only pleasure he has in life.
I dispair, I worry, I cry, but it makes no difference whatsoever.
Untill today, when he tried my e-cig, and a saw a shadow of hope......xx

I'm going to agree with you on that, hissie. Surely using an e-cig has to better for him than an anologue stick. Sort of makes sense in my head, just think I need reassurance.

Hissie, that is what I think also, but I think I read somewhere that e-cigs are not good if you have a heart condtion. But I have read so much about e-cigs before I actually got one, including a few 'anti' e-cig rants on other forums, that I can't remember if they are ok for him or not He will NOT go to his doctor and ask, but I suppose I could ask my doctor - but what do doctors know about e-cigs???? Ohhhhhh my head hurts! ???

Hello everyone,
I've had my dad round to today to enjoy a BBQ with the family, and he was most intrigued by e-cig - so much so that had a couple of 'puffs' and was very impressed.
Now, he is 73, smokes 20 cigs a day (he used to smoke 40.....), but he has Angina, and had a mini stroke last year.
He is on medication, and his last of 4 heart attacks was 30 years ago.
He is a stubborn man, who hates going to the doctor, and would never bother his doctor with a silly question regarding his smoking (his words not mine) - he has had the same doctor for 40 years and all they do is end up talking about cricket..........
Would anyone know if trying an e-cig would be ok - or is it a definate no-no because of the heart condition?
My poor mum is a non-smoker who deplores my dads smoking, and she suffers chest infections due to passive smoking.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated......xxxxx

Hi all, and thank you so much for you messages of support....x Lolli, I echo what you say about 'live and let live'. Obviously I still have smoking friends, but MOST of my friends are non smokers that have NEVER smoked. Yesterday a still smoking friend popped in for a coffee, and she actually asked if it was OK to smoke in my kitchen......as much as I actually didn't want her to, I said yes - I so don't want to be one of those ex-smokers that are holier than thou!! But, her own conscience got the better of her and she went into the garden to enjoy her ciggie. I'm sure that gradually my smoking friends will all relegate themselves to the back door of their own accord. Well I flippin' hope they do anyway!

Hi Hissie, Fabulous isn't it? I do a couple of smoking friends who 'don't get it' - one friend is insisting that she DOES NOT want to pack up smoking, and no amount of my explaining the e-cig to her will convince her otherwise. She has asthma as well....... My non-smoking friends are just telling me to pack up altogether, and no amount of explaining to them will convince them that I am not bonkers..... But I don't blooming care! Hubby and I are happy, daughter and Grandon are happy, and that is all that matters to me. Oh, and my house is now sooooo fresh.....xx

Glad I'm not the only one missing me blooming ashtray! I washed all mine and put them away in a cupboard - just got the biggest ashtray back out though to 'rest' me e-cig in and i feel better already.
Strange how ashtrays and lighters become something to miss.......

Hiya Dee, That sounds like me! When the weather is nice in the morning, I make a pot of coffee, get the newspaper, a pen, and me Riva - and sit outside vaping away to me hearts conetent, reading the paper and doing the crossword. Tis me ashtray I miss the most though, as I used to also use it for 'bits' of rubbish, now I am having to make the effort of walking to the bin! Hubby is missing his baccy tin, so I put a piece of kitchen paper in it, along with his e-juice, a spare cart, a spare attie, and a pair of tweezers.........now I have one very happy hubby!
