car147 ... it can be a bit 'gob smacking' for some as to how easy it is... it was for me. Was watching 'The Hotel' on telly an hour or so ago, and a guest there was happily vaping away... it will be the norm soon.

Overall, a more positive and balanced response than I read from them last year, when if my memory is correct, they were damning them. I was so incensed at the time that I cancelled my monthly donation to them and switched it to Macmillan, accusing them of being in the pocket of BigP.
They still managed to get the following in at the end though...
... but I think it's getting through.

I know..... I'm sad..... I should get a life etc etcBUT................ I have started an Excel spreadsheet and I'm now recording the daily table, awarding 10pts for 1st place down to 1pt for 10th Lets see who REALLY does the chat When was your last medical Q ??? If I ever find myself in the top 10... I'll know I've got a problem. No disrespect to those that are... I'm getting the feeling I'm digging a hole for myself, so I'll stop digging.

Well, she was cleared of all charges by the sounds of it, so another big "Storm In A Teacup".........Still, I'm sure it sold a few papers & filled a column up for a day............. "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!" The 'Mitchell Brothers' strike again... probably had a gentle word in the ear of someone!

A thread dedicated to slating my career that I am passionate about. Just awesome. Oops... TomI think I'll add the following to all my posts in future. Might make a good signature. All characters appearing in this post are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental, and no offence is intended.

Supply and demand, if people didn't subscibe to sky etc this kind of money wouldn't be available. Speaking of which I really must get round to cancelling my sky sports and movies subscription Greg... I've occasionally flirted with the idea of getting Sky, but when I check the listings there is nothing I would want to watch. Then, when I see something like this, it makes me so mad, I wouldn't do it, even though I have to go without 'Fools & Horses'. Better hold off on what I think of the subscribers to this rip off!

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-31379128I realise this will not sit well with the many footie fans on here... but c'mon... this deal is totally obscene. Totally realise it's a commercial company's money to do with as it sees fit, but how much cheaper could your Sky & BT bills be if it wasn't for deals like this. Can just imagine the agents on the phone now,,, £300,000 per week is not enough for my mega star (who only performs once a month)... plus he needs a Lear jet for his future grandaughter. If I carry on, I'll have to use expletives that are not allowed. Can anyone justify it? Or is it simply that there are so many out there prepared to pay the subscriptions. No way José... not a cent from me. You can't even make a decent bet on the matches now, as one week they play to form, the next they might as well be a Sunday pub team. God help them if they were ever paid solely on performance. Rant over now, so take your shots.

Many thanks for all your advice, I'm getting used to Chrome now. Some of the comments certainly brought back memories... Apart from learning BASIC on the various Sinclairs (ZX81 & Spectrum) at home, my first introduction at work was an HP terminal linked to the company's mainframe, but I could use it to write simple programmes. Then the IBM PCs with Visicalc installed (Wow!). I was then given this Compaq portable (?) to take work home with me, twin floppies, and weighed a ton, but managed to adapt the company's budgetting process to a spreadsheet with macros (I think it was 123 by then). Thought I knew it all back then, now I'm easily lost.

I've used FF for years with no problems, but in the last few months it has proved to be very unstable (hanging with 'not responding'). I'm on Vista with my laptop, and W7 on my desktop (no problems on that).
Does this mean that Vista is gradually being resigned to the scrapheap?
Have switched to Chrome, and although it takes a bit of getting used to, it's great not to have it go off in a world of its own for 5 minutes.
