Just how many times have we walked into a corner shop and the person on the till is on the phone and doesn't even stop to say hi or bye to you. You just go in, put your paper or what ever in front of them, they quickly say how much and then take your money and give your change. It annoys them when you ask them for something behind the till like a phone top up or a lottery ticket or the best 1... a gas or electric top up because they have to actaully talk to you and get off there arse to do the machine thing. Id walk out without purchasing anything. Courtesy works both ways. |

I work on a till in my local Co op, and I LOVE the phone users! We are obliged to ask each customer a series of questions, ie do they want a bag, have they a membership card etc etc etc, but after a while we tailor our questions depending on the customer and what they buy (we have a lot of regulars you see) And we also pack their shopping for them as well. Anyhoo, when an ignorant git arrives at my till with a phone glued to their ear and cant even be arsed to acknowledge me I make sure I ask EVERY question, and will repeat them till they're replied to and I deliberately take my time packing their bag! Infantile? You bet, but I gotta get my jollies where I can |
