@ padiho Thanks for the kind welcome. Yes, like you I re-fill my carts, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.
@ maccafan Really informative reply, thank you:
re. 2) Looks like an adapter is the way to go. I'm a little confused which way the adapter goes, i.e. with the JAC Vapour system the Battery is male and the carts are female, but other systems seem to go the other way. So it seems there are 2 variables here (thread gauge and direction); not just one. Am I right in my assumption that the adapter needs to be (from the battery point of view) going from 808 Male to 510 Female (since the 510 carts are male) or is that all included in the nature of a 808 to 510 adapter anyway? -- I hope that's not too confusing.
re. 4) Had no problems so far with premature VGO Auto battery death - but I'll keep this in mind if I do. Thanks.
re. 5) Bookmarked.
Again, thanks for the welcome and info.

Hi all,
First post, and thanks for a very useful forum.
I'm trying to understand the various cartomiser standards. Firstly, I get my carts and batteries from JAC Vapour.
I use the VGO Auto batteries (650 or 900s -- which I assume are similar/same as the eGo batteries? Probably wrong) and I use their standard pre-filled 35mm carts (so-called "V3 or Version 3 cartomisers").
That's all I've ever used since I started with the e-Cigs at the beginning of the year. However, I started looking around recently primarily for better prices and I noticed that there seems to be (at least) 2 different standards, 510s vs 808s.
Now, I'm not even sure I know what these 2 numbers refer to (threads? diameter for the screw element?? not sure).
Also, JAC Vapour (in terms of Pin & Socket, i..e male to female) seems different from most: i.e. all JAC Vapour's batteries screw into the cart; however, from what I can tell from most other sites the cart screws into the battery.
So my questions:
1) Does what I've written above make sense? 2) What does the 510 vs 808 refer to and what difference does it make? 3) Are JAC Vapours V3 cartomisers inferior to any others and if so in what way(s)? 4) I like auto batteries, as I don't like having to press a button to take a drag - are competitors to JAC Vapour's VGO batteries also automatic (and is that a stupid question?) 5) I don't like the idea of being tied to a supplier who is "bucking the trend", if I switch what is the closest setup to what I've got already and what changes would people here recommend to improve my e-Cig experience (especially in regard to cartomisers)?
I hope that's not too many questions, but they're all related to compatibility and competition really.
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
I.
