Hi all Hope I posted in the right place. A friend recommended the "original" smoktech e-pipe, but they seem really hard to come by. However, found a couple tucked away: SmokTech e-Pipe 18350 Mod (£26) SmokTech ePipe 18350 Mechanical Mod (£33) YouTube reviews look favourable. But with so few around it's hard to know what's a good price. Are these sensible prices? I quite like that they're small and unflashy. Is there a newer version that looks pretty much the same? Many thanks I.

It strikes me that the vaping community should focus a little more on the positive side of nicotine. I might have missed it, but I don't remember seeing anything about the benefits of nicotine on this site (may well be wrong): Example: www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0049998Nicotine Uses Neuron-Glia Communication to Enhance Hippocampal Synaptic Transmission and Long-term MemoryExcerpts: "Nicotine has effects on mnemonic functions; for example, nicotine improves long-term spatial memory, as measured in the Morris Water Maze [13], [14] and procedural learning, evaluated in the one-trial step-through inhibitory-avoidance task [15], [16]. Administration of nicotine also enhances cognitive functions in pathological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease [13], [17], [18], and it reverses memory deficits caused by a lesion of the cholinergic system [19], [20], [21], [22]." "Nicotine enhances synaptic transmission and facilitates long-term memory. " Etc .. Personally I don't mind getting mildly addicted to improved long-term spatial memory and better synaptic transmission, but hey ... that's just me. Izzznet.

Thanks Gordy, but my question isn't where can I get them - the answer to that is JacVapour's site, the question was: "Anyone know what the actual brand is?" -- i.e. what I'm trying to find out is what is the make of the cartomisers which JacVapour sell. Because I'm very sure he sources them from somewhere and that he is not making them himself in his garage. I.

Hi all, Quick question. I've tried a few of the main brands of cartomisers out there and so far I still prefer JacVapour's so-called V3. I'm looking to buy in bulk (50 - 100 packs). Anyone know what the actual brand is? Are they from China or US? The bung is a little thicker than the Boge and Kanger and the inside is a little more like a synthetic foam versus the slightly more cotton woolly foam of the Boge for example. From searching they don't look particularly like Innokins. This from a Jacvapour video: "These are the horizontal coil ones similar to the Bloog or Volt style cart." Also they look quite similar and come in the same packaging. If they are Bloog, does anyone know where I can buy these in bulk? If I can't get hold of a bulk buy of the so-called V3s I guess I'll go with Boge 808Ds from China's Health Cabin. Thanks for any help -- this is bugging me. I wish suppliers would just state what make of carts they sell rather than this re-branding nonsense. Cheers, I.

Yeah, it's a decent price. I went ahead and bought a couple of packs (LR 1.7 ohms and SR -- which seems a bit high at 3.2 ohms). I'll see if they're any good. I'd prefer if they were 2.0 and 3.0 but we'll see.

Yes, I'm aware they're 808s. They're for my HS Echo 1300 which has an 808 fitting. I.

From RT: UK: Fake cigs: Human excrement, asbestos, dead flies and billions in lost tax revenues rt.com/news/counterfeit-cigarettes-uk-tax-733/British undercover detectives in Birmingham have found cigarettes containing human excrement, asbestos, mold and dead flies, as counterfeit cigs flood into the UK at huge risk to public health.
Private eyes working for the tobacco industry have spent weeks rummaging through litter bins and scouring pavements for cigarette butts to access the scale of the black market in England’s midlands region, according to the Birmingham newspaper the Sunday Mercury.
Operation EDPC – which stands for Empty Discarded Pack Collection – was funded by Swiss-based brand protection company MS Intelligence – found that 31% of cigarettes were either bogus or bought abroad. You want to promote e-cigs, then this should help. Cheers, I.

I smoke 18mg and find 24mg way too much. Maybe it's a non-linear thing (like decibels).

also make sure you drink more fluid to help with the dehydration headaches Hi guys thanks for replying, I do and have always guzzled water as if it's going out of fashion, my hubby quite often comments I'm going to drown, so no probs there, I down about 2 litres before bed too as I am prone to migraines sometimes I get a bit nauseous and a bit dizzy, sort of like I'm stoned a bit and last night had blurred vision, but I am very tired lately too You can get headaches from over-hydration too. Water intoxication: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication"In the brain, this swelling increases intracranial pressure (ICP). It is this increase in pressure which leads to the first observable symptoms of water intoxication: headache, personality changes, changes in behavior, confusion, irritability, and drowsiness. These are sometimes followed by difficulty breathing during exertion, muscle weakness, twitching, or cramping, nausea, vomiting, thirst, and a dulled ability to perceive and interpret sensory information".
"Water, just like any other substance, can be considered a poison when over-consumed in a specific period of time". I very much doubt it's Water Intoxication, but just pointing out that it's easy to over-compensate or compensate the wrong way. Proper diagnosis is what's required - for that we have the NHS. I.

A friend of mine (looking into this) just sent me some info from a supplier she'd contacted. The supplier mentioned that sealed automatic batteries work by means of microphone technology and any sound sets them off. She also said that the 808s may get around this due to the fact that the airflow works in a different way. That would certainly explain the poor view folks here have of 510 auto batteries. Personally I use the VGO2 Auto (900 mah) and the Hangsen Echo Auto Battery (1300 mah): ... and they produce plenty of vapour for me. But it sounds like the manual batteries you're talking about are much better! I'll give them a try when these fatties finally die. The slim auto battery I'm after is purely for outdoor / on the go use. But now I understand the issue with the 510s I'll go with the KR808D-1 280 mah sealed Auto Battery for out and about usage. Thanks again for all your help. Cheers, I.

Perpetua, you're right, I can't really talk unless I've tried both. I'll give one a go at some point. But I disagree regarding "sealed batteries". The only batteries that I've used that went kaput were not "sealed" (they were Innokin batteries that had a hole in the centre pin, as per the pic below) and "juice or whatever ... caused them to malfunction". This non-sealed connection is the only one that has failed for me: maccafan explained to me why the sealed batteries don't go kaput: What they have done is made the hole on the sides with a larger center pin head (as per the pic in the first post), like a cartomiser air hole, instead of the older type where the hole was in the center pin. This forms a barrier preventing condensation from directly flowing into the battery, but they are not as sealed as a manual battery, simply because they can't be.
I've yet to have a "sealed" auto battery fail on me. That's my experience, but I could have just been lucky. It seems to me that there's hardly any difference between the VGO2 or Echo Auto batteries and the EGO batteries. Am I right to assume it's just about whether you like manual or auto, rather than whether the manual batteries actual perform any better? Cheers, I.

Thanks Perpetua. Yes, not all have a sealed end (no centre hole) unfortunately. I did quite a bit of Googling, and came across the battery you linked to, but it was a little low on the mah (180). I'll check with the vendor to see if it's sealed. This seems the one area where the 510 market is ill-served. It's peculiar to me how the two "thread worlds" seem to have evolved. The 510 market seems the one that will ultimately win out, it's more diverse and there's more competition, but when it comes to auto batteries the 808 world seems better served and I don't quite understand why. I get the impression from this forum that "manual" is the way to go; but I can't help thinking that when we were all smoking tobacco (pre e-cigs), if someone came along and said "you should try these Marlboros, they're much better; you have to press a button before you can have a drag", I don't see how we'd have been impressed. Am I missing something? I. EDIT: According to Cloud9's website that battery is an SLB 510 Auto battery, like this one: www.timeeast.net/images/v/201205/13363988050.jpgFrom the pic it looks like the battery is not sealed.
