Graham. I think this thread will be helpful for not only new members, but everyone. We always tend to recommend a larger e-cig to new members as we know they last longer between recharges & over all have better performance than most smaller e-cigs. However, we all mustn't lose the plot & remember that for some folks a smaller auto e-cig with prefilled cartomisers would suit hem better So kudos to you for posting this thread Thanks Chrissie, I must admit that as I was posting this that from all the posts I have read I did feel a bit 'Whimpy' in having a pre filled carto and a pass through as my favourite but like everything in life, everyone is different. For me I need to simulate smoking as much as possible to ween myself off them and again, for me, this combination I've now got seems to fit the bill perfectly - a very similar taste, similar draw and a very similar feel in my hand. The obvious major difference is that they're not killing me! No doubt in a few weeks/months time I shall find something else and start enjoying the vaping experience for what it is rather than for the smoking replacement mechanism that I need at the moment. So pleased to hear you have found something you are so happy with Graham Thanks Chrissie, it's really nice and all the time I'm happy with this combo then I just don't need a normal smoke, it just doesn't enter my head. Whatever works for you Graham, pleased you've found it I've kind of drifted back to a cig a like with a pre filled (althoug I do re-fill them, waste not to) for work. it's just more convenient and work can be difficult enough without trying to explain what I'm sticking in my mouth Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! I still love using my Clearomiser and will still carry on using it but I have to admit that this is so good, loads of vapour and a great taste too. The batteries even glow red instead of blue too!! Awesome! Graham

Well, apart from me now being just over two weeks smoke free, I found the best vape for today. I much prefer the auto or pass through batteries than the button versions as to me I feel like I'm using an ordinary cigarette which I think I need in these early days Anyway, I ordered 4 82mm 510 auto's and 6 packs of B & H cartos from Vape Escape yesterday and they came today (brilliant service as always from them) and that combo is just fantastic for me, I've been vaping this tonight and the battery is still going strong - this was just what I was after. I'm sure as time goes on my taste buds will change but for now this is suiting me just fine, really happy. Graham

Great to here it bud,I bet both those boys are proud of you, they will naturally be worried about a smoker, now they can see you giving it up for a safer habit, they know their dad is going to be able to enjoy their lives for many years to come and I can see how much that means to you also ...plus they will hopefully not take up smoking like we all did. Result! Graham

I'm coming up for two weeks on Monday, it seems ages ago now. Had a wobbly a couple of days ago but luckily for me I was able to get over it and move on. Another £50 going in my money pot tomorrow as a reward. Graham

He he, you have and do the exact same thing as me except that I bought my Riva in with me this afternoon, My SkyCig and Riva was in my pockets all afternoon and when I felt the need I would pay a visit to the gents. Luckily for me they are individual single small rooms with an opening window so no one would ever know that I'd been in there. That helped me a lot. Graham

Well, I've just got home after having resisting all the temptation this afternoon by doing what I said I'd do - going to the gents and having a crafty vape,
The trouble was that as soon as I got home I decided to have a cigarette so I lit one up from the remaining open pack I still have (I sold today all the packs I bought back from holiday) which I haven't touched since I packed up, oh my God, it was horrible!! I took two drags from it and one of those was when I was lighting it up, after the second drag I'd had enough and gave it to my wife - I shant be doing that again no matter how desperate I get, I'd rather go without.
So in a way, that cigarette did me some good in a bizarre way in that in reenforced that I don't want to smoke. The postman had delivered 10 B&H carts I had ordered from Vape Escape as at the moment that is the taste I prefer out of the ones I've tried so far, very much like a roll up rather than B&H but nice nevertheless.
So at the moment I am surrounded by clouds of vapour and now totally content and satisfied, I probably agree that maybe I need to up my nicotine levels for the first vape of the morning so I shall give that a try. When I think about it, I would have probably had 4-5 cigarettes within an hour of going to work so up the nicotine makes sense.
Anyway, blip over with, thanks for all you moral support and advice and as always - much appreciated.
Graham

So instead of a smoker you'll be a fat git? I am kidding, honest! Congrats on not caving and buying a pack of fags I was drinking a cup of coffee when I read that and that is not conducive when also pissing myself laughing. Well done on not giving in! did you vape your normal amount this morning? (before work?) Yes I did and also vaped on the way to work too, I think I need to vape at work, I shall try doing it sneakily this afternoon and see how I get on. Hang in there. Your banner says you've avoided 300 fags so far... well done! And remember, even if you have the odd ciggie it's not going to be the end of the world but congratulations on the willpower Thanks. The odd ciggie does sound very tempting but I daren't because I know the odd one will turn into the odd two etc, etc especially at these early days for me. Thanks for all the words of support though people much appreciated and just what I needed. Graham

For the first time since not smoking (10th Sept) I've been doing really well with no temptations of a fag but this morning is all of sudden proving a little difficult, I don't why today but the feeling to smoke has been overwhelming. I went out to the shops this lunchtime with a half intention to buy some, on the way there I was pulling on my Riva like it was going out of fashion to try and distract myself from this feeling and get some nicotine into me (I don't vape at work). Got to the supermarket and parked up and stood next to the cigarette counter but turn around and went to the sweet section and bought a double Whispa then a huge Cheese baguette, a packet of cheese and onion crisps, a paclet of chocolate Hob nobs and a double packet of Ginger Nuts. I've been back about 20 minutes and had another vape on the journey back. Most of the food has gone and so has a lot of the urge to smoke - that was a really horrible experience and I didn't like it one bit. The company I work for is extremely anti smoking and I'm pretty sure that they would not understand about Vaping so I shall be visiting the toilet quite a bit this afternoon because I think I'm trying to go too long without anything. All that food by the way cost just over half the price of a packet of JPS which I was so tempted to buy - I'm glad I resisted the temptation, onwards and upwards and just put it down to a blip. ...When your batteries are getting past it, why don't you get the mega 340 mah batteries, they are only a little bit longer than the standard batteries but will give you quite a bit more vaping time. I think the skycig ones are only 180mah, so you can see that you will almost double the time in between charging. That would be excellent Trish, where do I get those from - SkyCig? Graham

My SkyCig was delivered today, I didn't have preconceived ideas but I was surprised at how small it was, well it wasn't really that small, it's about the same size as a normal cigarette but in comparison to my Riva then it is small.
Anyway, having sorted it all out I started to vape on it and I have to admit that it's very comfortable as it's virtually identical to smoking a normal cigarette. It hasn't got much of a hit to it and the flavours are now a bit bland in comparison to what I have been vaping but in a strange kind of way that's what gives it a bit of attraction. It's easy, no messy setting up, just take it out the pack and start vaping - just like you would with a cigarette. I guess I'm still in the not smoking stage of vaping where I'm comparing everything vaping to smoking whereas I suppose further down the line I will forget the comparison bit and just vape for what it is.
Nevertheless, I'm really quite surprised as to how much I'm enjoying this at the moment and I can see that this is going to be a nice addition to have in the car as well at home.

Well, that's a pretty good response from a good cross section so far and has answered a few questions that I had rumbling around in my mind. The methodology of the way we vape obviously varies from one person to another and the way that they prefer so that's good - choice is always good. It was also interesting to see why people vape which was really what I was after, more of a case of being nosey rather than anything else. For me personally, having just quit from being a very heavy smoker to just vaping then at the moment this is just purely a stop smoking replacement mechanism but I can see this developing into something which will be a direct replacement to smoking without the health issues. Virtually everything is the same except for a few details in the way I vape to simulate my smoking past so I am not surprised at the moment that I vape like I used to smoke, having said that then when I smoked I would pull on a cigarette two, three or even four times before taking it out my mouth to get as much smoke as I could, I would breath out through my nose sometimes to get a better taste so not too unlike the way I vape, plus I would direct inhale too which I have tried with vaping with similar results as to smoking - not too much taste but a great feeling never the less. Anyway, thanks for all the responses people and the time you took out to do so - much appreciated, it all helps me progress through this initial time of vaping. Graham

Lol, no way are you going to be chucked off the forum, Graham Excellent! On a serious note, I don't know what I'd do to be honest if that did happen, this forum has been an absolute haven for me during the last couple of weeks, such a comforting place to be - sad init. Graham

OK, you didn't really ask a question there............................. OK, sorry about that so to cut the whaffle out of the original post, then what I was asking was do you think that after the initial starting of vaping to overcome the smoking cessation, does vaping take on a different identity to a smoking replacement even though it's a very similar habit/hobby?
