Now this may sound a strange thing to ask and it's primarily aimed to you vaping long timers out there but reading through some of the posts in the "not so newbie" parts of this wonderful forum, it becomes blatantly clear that I have a huge amount to learn because half the time I can't understand a single word you're talking about with the terminology used. No doubt over time I will get to know what on earth you are talking about but at the moment it sounds like you are talking in the language of Zobb from the planet Zobb. Now to get back to my question. I assume like most newbies on here, I am vaping because it is an extremely good replacement to smoking - you stop smoking and take up vaping - simples. At the moment the method I vape is virtually identical to how I used to smoke, take a full drag, inhale deeply and exhale but I get the impression that as you vape for a longer period that it becomes something a little different. Instead of a smoking replacement it would appear (from how I read some of the posts) that vaping becomes a separate identity from smoking and has it's own methodology and reason for even doing it. Obviously the intake of nicotine has some part to play with it but I just get the impression that the smoking part has now gone once you are well into it say after a year as an example but will vary from person to person I guess and vaping is the 'New' smoking habit in it's own right. In a way I hope I'm right because at the moment I don't want to smoke but I definitely want to vape and as each day goes on then I can see me vaping indefinitely rather than quitting at Christmas time as I initially intended to do. What do you kind folk think to my observations so far - true or way off base? I'd be interested to know your thoughts, in the meantime I shall carry on vaping with my Maxi which I've been doing constantly since about 7.00 tonight, I must put it down soon. Graham

I know exactly what you mean with the noise, you just wouldn't believe how noisy a hospital ward is at night, you would think it would be quiet but it isn't so I don't blame you at all and I'm sure that if I ever had to go into hospital then a selection of juices, my Riva and Maxi would be one of the first things I'd pack. Oh, and not forgetting some charged up batteries of course and if all that failed - a packet of 20 JPS Blacks (only joking on the last bit). Graham

I bought the mini SD key ring a few months back, mainly so I could stealth vape in hospital. I chose the B&H carts & I agree, the taste of them is very good indeed Tch, tch, tch, vaping in hospital, how very, very dare you. I've just ordered some more B&H carts plus some menthols too, that should keep me going nicely in the car - and at home too. Haven't been able to put it down since I started it up tonight. Graham

I got home tonight and saw that the postman had been and delivered my SD KeyRing Maxi from Vape Escape plus a new Clearomiser to replace the one that went wrong on me. Soooo, the first thing I did was to put on charge the battery for the SD KeyRing Maxi then filled up the Clearomiser with some juice and vaped away while the battery was charging up. The Cleasomiser worked first time so it was obviously some fault with the original one I bought with the Riva 1100 kit I bought, it was so nice to use that again. The battery charged after about an hour so I fitted it together (I chose the B&H version) and took a drag - ooooh that's lovely, loads of vapour and a taste similar to a roll up, really, really nice. I then took and even bigger drag and just rolled the vapour around in my mouther for a few seconds, inhaled deeply and exhaled, blimey that was even better, full of taste but not harsh on the back of the throat but the best bit for me was the amount of vapour I was able to make very easily - what a great vape!! I can't say that it tastes like a B&H but that doesn't bother me, the taste is still nice, very much a tobacco taste and as I said, almost like the taste of a Golden Virginia roll up. I'm vaping this right now and will be taking this in the car tomorrow for my trip to work. So all in all, a great addition to my relatively early beginnings of vaping. I'm just loving this and this is reinforcing the feeling of me not ever smoking again, why should I when this is proving to be better in many, many ways. I think (know) I'm hooked on vaping! Graham

Well done Graham sounds like you are doing really well. There is no doubt that the hand to mouth and clouds of vapour is a big part of it - you will soon know if you are taking in too much nicotine! I nearly passed out a couple of times when I first started You may find you ease up a bit as time goes by like I have, but I use high nic juice. Others use lower nic and carry on enjoying chaining. I guess it depends on the relative importance of all the different psychological factors involved to you. Thanks Dave for a very informative reply and also words of encouragement - much appreciated. I think the thing for me is the vapour, I love to inhale as much vapour as I possibly can - I was the same with smoking, if I can still see vapour being exhaled after about 5-6 exhales then I feel satisfied. It's definitely horses for courses though and everyone is different I guess and that's what makes vaping so good, so much there to enjoy for all sorts of different reasons. I thought that I'd try a menthol disposable lunchtime before getting any juice and out of all the years of me smoking I never had (as far as I can remember) a menthol cigarette. I bought just one 10 Motive to try out and oh boy, was that nice. There was no harshness to it at all and was like putting a fresh stick of mint chewing gum in my mouth every time I had a pull on it, I had about a 15 minuite journey back to the office and I swear I probably used most of it up in that short time! No matter though, I shall look on Vape Escape this afternoon for a menthol juice to go with my Riva which sounds comparable to the 10 Motive I've just bought, I just love all this stuff and experimenting, it's great!! I must admit that I had a drag on my wifes fag about Thursday last week, not because I was craving a real cigarette but more out of curiosity - I'm glad I did because it tasted horrible, very much a chemical taste to it rather than what I could remember of it and what I was expecting. That stopped my curiosity because I had realised what a God damn awful thing I had been smoking all this time.
I have been getting the cravings for more nicotine in the last day or so and may have to vamp that up a bit, I suppose that's because I'm now getting used to the vapour - I don't know as it's still very early days for me yet but one thing is for sure, I've no intention of trying another drag of my wifes fag again - yuk!!

...and completely off topic but where (how) can I get one of those groovy sig pics which says how long you've been vaping for? Are they only available after you've posted so many posts? If not, can I have one please? Pretty please - it will give me encouragement to see this creeping up each day. Graham

Well I chain vape, a lot of us do, examine why you do, do you feel a craving for a nicotine hit, or is it just that you can't keep away from the flavour. If it's the former then you might need to up your nicotine content to keep the cravings away, then you can decrease it over time. If it's the latter.... you're hooked! I'm pretty sure it's not the nicotine, nope, it's more to do with the flavour and the amount of vapour I can get - the more vapour I can get along with the throat hit then the more I want. I've got batteries on charge everywhere so that I've got something charged up so if one goes flat then I've got an immediate replacement. So from what you are saying then it seems like that I'm not out of the ordinary which is reassuring to know so I'm going to carry on chain vaping without feeling guilty and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for the replies folks, much appreciated, I do have one minor problem and that is that I love this so much that I can't put it down, I'm constantly vaping when I get home from work, swapping between one thing to another, both my Rivas, rechargeable and disposable 10 Motives (I just love the taste of those). It's the equivalent of chain smoking constantly. the only time I'm not vaping is when I'm eating!! I'm now able to get huge amounts of vapour to inhale and slowly exhale it at the same time drawing on the next drag, direct inhaling, you name it and I'm doing it - this seems to have become incredibly addictive and feel the need to vape all the time. I just hope this eases off a bit - well in a way I don't but you know what I mean. Is this what happened to you when you first started vaping? (I'm putting it down to being a novelty ) I'm surprised my wife hasn't said anything but as she is now vaping too (along with the occasional cigarette) then maybe she understands how good it is. Well it's a week ago today that I gave up the fags and started vaping and I love it. There are so many reasons why I love it but I think the main reason is that it has bought the relaxing part of smoking back again, I can now sit in the lounge on the settee and vape away to my hearts content with no smell and no smokey atmosphere and enjoy the deep inhales and throat kicks just as if I was smoking but I'm not - brilliant! No more standing out in the freezing cold or pouring rain either. It's been a great success and so glad I started and will be vaping for a while yet, I was planning in quitting by about Christmas but I like it so much I can't see that happening, I may try easing down on the nicotine as the months go by but I will see how it goes as I have no intention on rushing it. As regards this forum then what can I say, without the help and advice I've had in this very short time then I certainly would not be having a ball vaping like I am at the moment and I know that any questions that I have (and I know that there's going to be loads ) then you friendly bunch of folk will help me out very quickly without being stroppy about it like some forums when a newbie asks questions. My kit is limited at the moment but I can see that increasing in a rapid way, going onto the vaping websites adverting all that great stuff is just too tempting and my card is going to be red hot by the end of the month but I'm still not spending as much as if I was smoking so I'm not bothered to be honest. Anyway, I just thought I'd bring you up to speed as to where I am at the moment and when I receive some other bits tomorrow which I ordered on the weekend then I'll let you know how I've got on. I haven't got a link but I've just looked on the Vapescape website where I bought my Riva 1100 kit from and they list it as a "Vision Ego Standard Resistance Clearomiser".

Vaporized, let Jason know your Vision ego clearomiser packed up so quickly. One of the reasons we recommend Vape Escape so much is due to his customer service Will do, but I've ordered another 3 from him just incase another one pops when I least expect it to, I'll drop him an email tomorrow, one thing I'm learning fast is to keep your spare batteries charged and have plenty of juice at hand plus a few spares of the consumables - I'm getting there.
