Just watched the aforementioned programme - it's SO worth a watch. The dedication and passion that the aircrew, airframe and mechanics have for the Vulcan has to be seen to be believed. Rolls Royce don't have the necessary skills to be part of the Vulcan programme. In other words, the young mechanics of today are not skilled enough to take over the running and maintenance of the aeroplane that the old hands have, and these aging staff are retiring now.
I hear tell that the team are now considering a full flying restoration of another classic warbird - the De Havilland Mosquito - now that would be just awesome!!

It's not due to a lack of money, but rather that the large engineering commitments from the like of Rolls Royce and others has been withdrawn. It is indeed very sad, I saw her last summer cruising close to my back garden on her way to RNAS Culdrose for Airday. A wonderful sound from a wonderful plane. However, there is hope: the Avro Shackleton which was until recently the gate guard at RAF St. Mawgan has been purchased and moved to its own hanger on the airfield, and monies are being raised to get her back into the air.

If I'm in Beacon Vape, my local B & M, and a new customer comes in, I will refrain from vaping until I'm sure they are a vaper too, and even then will blow small clouds at the ceiling, sparingly, until it has been determined that they approve. I think it's called good manners . . . How is zeldamum doing Andy? Haven't seen her round much these days, pass on regards next time you do pop in there I will do GunJack, I see her regularly but she's very busy with her other job, so the shop's only open one day a week. I'm sure that zeldamum will be back on the forum soon!

Could I please reserve a couple, one blue, one green, until I see my daughter in the morning? I know she wants another and I do too!

Thanks kreed - I think I'll have to sit down tomorrow and check all the major vendors and see what I might have lurking in my concs box before I panic!

Well Kevin, I've resisted so far, but this will just have to be made - a month's steep should have it ready for Christmas. Checked out my flavours and only three I need!!

I'll also vouch for the longevity of the heads - I put 20 tanks through my iSub before changing the head, much like Romney - more because I thought i should, rather than because it needed it! Great price too, and really faff-free!

Loving watching your reviews as much as ever paulymeatballs - I really like the look of the Fuchai - not a bad price either for such a beast

beansandpork - hi and a warm welcome from me too! Ask away if you have any mixing questions, and do try out the forum calculator top right of the Menu Bar, it's "Mix Calc". Add your statistics, and hit generate to make the recipe. If you register on the site, you can save all your recipes for future reference, and it's easily accessed from a mobile/tablet to have in the kitchen whilst you are mixing too - it's all I use!

the more power the quicker the coil rids itself of the excess caramelisation, and should therefore last longer. An interesting theory Andy, but I'm not convinced! Jim I'm not saying that the caramelisation doesn't occur Jim jevans, but a higher power does prolong the life of a coil to a certain extent. The power helps to burn off the crud, whereas at lower power, the crud sticks around and slows things down!
