I would love to agree, but this Autumn I have suffered a prolonged cold which I still have; it has lasted 6 weeks and shows no signs of abating yet.
I do however not show the classic smoker's symptoms of a cold which goes onto my chest, giving me a wek of chronic cough and breathlessness, coupled with copious and unpleasant expectoration.
I do wonder if my eschewing the properties of PG in the quest of more vaporous vaping has removed my defenses from the common cold?

Hi conan87, and welcome to the forum. Well done on kicking the fags into touch, and for sticking with the vaping. There is such a choice of mods out there, it may help us if you could tell us a bit more about your circumstances to help us to help you. What is your budget? Do you want a built-in battery or the option to remove and swop over batteries? Do you vape "mouth-to-lung" (like smoking a cigarette) or DLI "Direct Lung Inhale"? This will have a bearing on the type of tank you will put on top, and also what power requirements you will need. Do you want to experiment with Temperature Control using Nickel coils, or are you happy to stick with a stock coil? What ratio of PG and VG do you use in your juice at present? This will also have relevance to the type of tank you use. Sorry about the Spanish Inquisition, but some answers to these questions will narrow down the options and make it easier for us to point you in the right direction. Just a footnote: Vaporiz are very expensive, and we can show you how to buy all the kit they sell (and the genuine article, not 'clone' copies) for much less dosh. Please check with us before ordering, as there may be other vendors with much lower prices out there that you may not be aware of  |

I think it has always been the fiddling and fettling of either pipe, roll-ups or vaping which I enjoy; keeping my hands busy as well as getting my nicotine fix (although that has now become largely psychological!).

It's the choice of flavour for me, quite simply. I didn't particularly enjoy the taste of tobacco, although as a pipe smoker I did enjoy Cherry and Vanilla, funnily enough a combination I have yet to mix as a vape juice. Spoilt for choice as far as e-juice flavours are concerned, and very much a hobby mixer, I enjoy the combinations of flavours and discovering something that will re-envigorate my palate and give my vaping a new lease of life. I have my favourite juices which I keep a ready supply of, but I also enjoy the challenges of coming up with something which my vaping friends rave over. And no, I have never had the urge to vape a tobacco flavoured juice; I gave up tobacco so don't want to be reminded of the taste and smell, thanks! |

Back in the old days (steadies himself on walking stick) we used to wind the wire around the silica wick, using a needle to give a bit of space inside the coil after it was finished. This might work for you, but TBH things have moved on so much that I have yards of the blessed stuff which I will never use now |

@broadblaster - have you handled rayon fibre? It works as well (some say better) than cotton, and is easy to work with. This might be a suitable alternative?
