The way I see it, the "juice flow" is little more elaborate than unscrewing the tank a bit.
One full turn is plenty, unless you are cranking the watts and/or using thick liquid.
make sure you start from a position of fully tightened then use the logo to count your turns.
It's quite complicated and rather clever but easy to make a mistake.

I would rather not vape that particular coil. Like I don't think the Cubis 1.5ohm gives any taste either.
Kanger mess around with the airflow to make it supposedly MTL friendly, but I don't buy that it keeps the same potential for flavour.
Basically, it lets less juice to coil, therefore less concentration of flavor in the vapour.
I say it's the coil, not the tank. I use the 0.5ohm on the subvod and it kicks out some taste. If I put the 1.2ohm in it basically sucks and once you've 'turned it up' to get it vaping decent (not on the subvod but a VW mod), you are going to burn it out shortly.

18mg 50/50 is going to be harsh at 14.5w.

Either lower your Nicotine or lower your power to ease your way back into it OR get lower nic liquid with higher VG and even increase the power. (yes!)

I quit (finally) using 18mg liquid at 7w. I soon got into variable power at upped that to about 9w and lowered to 12mg.

I can still happily vape 12mg (although I have none) but tend to use 6mg (and even 3mg) at 14.8w, which is ironically where you are with the Endura T18.

Coughing is normal for a proportion of people. I remember the first time I vaped 18mg on a sub-ohm set up at about 17w and I coughed so bad I considered phoning for medical help!
